Random Lag Spikes
Every time I play this game on my PC, I get random lag spikes that freeze my screen for a split second. This happens at least every ten to twenty seconds. Other than that, I get a constant 60fps. I have good specs so that isn't the problem (this game isn't hard to run anyway). When I'm playing this game on my Macbook Pro away from home, I don't have this problem. This lag is affecting my gameplay more each time I play it because of my progress. I'm about to start C-Sides and having lag in the middle of tough rooms isn't fun.

If you're on a Windows PC and encountering this, it's worth giving the opengl branch a try as it uses a different engine:

Right click Celeste in Steam -> Properties -> Betas -> Select "opengl" from the dropdown

I'm having the exact same issue, i have a 6700k at 4.4ghz and a 1080. There's absolutely no way it's my hardware so im super confused.

I'm just getting these random spikes going from 60 to like 10 then back to 60 and it repeats every so often

Alright, either disabling the steam overlay fixed it or turning off Razer Synapse did, but the lag is gone now.

That worked for me, so thank you so much. But, now my controller isn't rumbling even though it's on in settings and i feel rumble when i change the rumble settings. Might just be a general bug in the opengl version
