Not working in 4k

I am trying to play this game on my 4k TV but it seems it won't get past the intro.

I will try my best to explain the problem. When I launch the game, it lags and hangs severly. I cannot get past the intro scene where it says "Matt Makes Games Inc.". The game just hangs there with the audio constantly being cutoff.

The game works fine on my monitor (1440p).
