Should I play this game?
I have been hearing about this game for a while now. I've done research and watched reviews and it looks really fun, but it also looks very hard. I am not a gamer and am honestly terrible at skill/platformer games. I really only play casual games like The Sims most of the time. But, this game is on sale and I was wondering if it was worth it. I just don't want to game to be too hard for me. Thanks!

There is a an assist mode, which will make the game a LOT.
You can select what things to change. For example infinity dashes etc.

You should really get this game, it's good!
The community is huge and there is even modding for this game!! (modding community is huge aswell)

It's a very difficult game to be sure, but it has a very gradual learning curve. That having been said, if you rarely/never play platformers or skill/reflex-based games, I can see how even the early stuff may be taxing.

As LotuaStation said, there's an Assist Mode, which is both optional and super customisable: you can turn it on at any point during a normal Celeste playthrough, so if you get up to say, Chapter 6 before it starts to get too hard for you, you can still turn it on at that point. It gives you a variety of options that you can toggle, including never running out of stamina (so you can hang off walls/ledges forever), being invulnerable, or even just having the game slowed down to less than 100% speed, giving you more time to react to danger, or perform tricky moves.

This lets you tailor the assistance to whatever is giving you the most trouble, so for example, some people might use it because they have a tremor in their hands, or because they have anxiety and the difficulty is getting to them, or whatever. For you, as someone who's just less experienced with precision platformers, I'd say start without it and get as far as you can without the game driving you up the wall, I think you'd be surprised to find how far you can go.

The game also has a really earnest, encouraging vibe to it, it's not one of those ultra hard games that just slaps the player with punishment and expects them to be perfect or quit; it wants you to push yourself, but it also wants you to succeed. This ties in with the story as well, so getting through tough parts on your own power feels super rewarding as the story ties right in with that sort of struggle for self-improvement (trying to avoid spoiling anything about it).
