Yes. But only one.

Depends on what you mean. There are around 4 if you want to be super duper vauge with the term, however 2 of those involve another character following your exact movements 5 seconds behind you, and if it touches you you die, while the third floats by the edge of the screen and sometimes dashes across at you.

There is only one real "boss" that you need to actually hit in order to progress.

There aren't boss fights in the way the term usually means. I think of a boss fight as being a battle where you need to learn something about the boss (like attack patterns or a weakness) in order to defeat it. That doesn't really happen in Celeste, except arguably once, although even in that sequence you're mostly platforming.
