If you think its not intuitive just use wasd controls (game had an update earlier this year that fixed all inconsistencies between wasd and arrows), it never seems to have made a difference between arrow keys or wasd either.
Furthermore Celeste only supports 8 directional inputs. There is a bonus unlockable feature that enables full analogue support for dashing (called 360 dashing), but it's kinda useless by the time it is unlocked and it's a double edged sword as it forces you to be more precise on tight gaps.
But I would recommend changing the controls for your comfort and it will take some time to find perfect keys for certain actions.
For instance... I was changing the keys to match my preference for an hour.
But when you will play with your final management... you will get used to it by the time you play the game... but you need to have fast fingers and be well-oriented on your keyboard.
Maybe in certain levels you are going to need fast fingers and controller may be better, but nothing will be impossible with a keyboard.
