Crouch Dash question
Is there any downsides to always using crouch dash instead of regular dash besides not being able to dashcancel?

there are some downsides, main one being that you cant do any superdashes with them.

if you didn't know, there's a better version of that dash, if you are able to jump in the air at about 2 your characters height then dash at a downwards angle, right afterwards jump you will achieve the same effects as a crouch dash but you will regain your dash.

They're talking about a crouch/demo dash while I think you're talking about using a wavedash instead of a hyper.
Also wavedashes aren't inherently better, you won't get your dash back if you jump too quickly in a wavedash, and you can do an extended hyper to get your dash back without jumping.

So there are no major downsides in crouch dashing instead of normal dashing besides not being able to do Dash Cancels/Super Dashes? Thanks, could make some stuff easier.

that's not entirely true, with crouch dashes you can't pick up throwables or dream hyper

dream hypers are made easier, unless you dash into the block using a crouch dash.

there are major downsides, supers being one of the most noticable. you can complete the game with your controls like this, but if you're ever going to move into custom maps, or speedrunning, just use a seperate button.

maybe you're pressing down? if you use a demo for dream hypers, you dont have to press down at all when leaving the dream block.

Well if you're trying to pick up key coins and other collectables while dashing it does make it a bit harder

You find holding down and then changing to a different direction in a fairly precise time window then pressing a button easier than just pressing a button?

yes, I do. dream hypers aren't really that hard why would i put that much effort into using a demo
