[SPOILER] Chapter 3 C-Side
I'm stuck on the last screen for like a hour now.... I can't manage these last three ridiulous ghost jumps ffs~

For me there is no clear timing point. It's like 50/50 I hit the first one. I managed to do the second one a few times already but then there is also the third one.... these "ghost jumps" or whatever you call them are the only mechanic in the game I really despise. Do you have any tipps for timing these?

Don't focus on lining up pixel perfect next to the wall, it doesn't matter since the ghost jump activates extra hitboxes to Madeline. The only thing that matters is to press the jump button when your character is at the same height as the wall.

Once I figured that, it became suprisingly easy. I was wasting all my focus on positioning before, with mixed results, often banging my head to the bottom of the wall since I was trying to get perfect close to it. Timing is all that matters!

The biggest tips for handling these are to set yourself up for a bail-out dash if you miss. The first two you can dash back to the platform, and the last one has a gem you can grab and dash back to the wall. As a result, you want to work on the timing of just jumping; don't try to set yourself up with a dash, the timing for that is too long and you lose your recovery option.

For timing, you want to jump right around the time you hear and see the thunderbolt animation that signals his charge. Pointing to an exact frame is hard since it's mostly by feel, but with the approach above you should have a chance to practice a bit without having to restart the room. It's definitely tough to get the timing down, but once you find it it'll be another of those Wow tricks you can do in the game to impress people without really thinking too hard about it. As a bonus, practice here makes grabbing that one strawberry in 3A a lot easier, too.

Also @Damos, I'm pretty sure OP is talking about the Oshiro bops, not wall-dashes, though that's definitely good advice for those.

To add on what wervyn said, you don't even have to do the third jump. You can wait grabbing the wall and when you see/hear his animation, climb a bit. That should make you bounce on Oshiro, giving you your dash back. That,s enough to make the last jump.

Oops, yeah you're right, I got 2nd and 3rd screen mixed up!

In addition to the trick Senen mentioned for easy third jump, the first jump can be skipped by using the dash-jump technique taught in 8C. (You will need to dash again in the air to reach the dash gem.) This is still a little tricky because Oshiro and the circling enemy can kill you, but it's much easier than bopping Oshiro.

I don't know a trick for the 2nd jump and for me it's the single most difficult move in the game. I used assist mode's invincibility and 50% speed to experiment with timings. The way that has the biggest window for me is to jump and then dash right at the bop height.

Not sure what 8C teaches but I've been using wavedashing (taught in the middle of Farewell) to do the first jump. Thanks for the tips on the 2nd and 3rd ones!

I know this convo is 6 years old but I'm bumping it for anyone else like me who desires tips on 3C

pro tip: instead of learning some stupid ass gimmick (oshiro jump that never appears in the game after that) that no one considers fun and practicing the last two jumps for a dumbass amount of time

just turn the assist on, enable infinite dashes, complete the level as usual (fair way), and when the time comes, just dash your way forward to the heart

or make yourself invincible on the platform before the last two jumps, if you really intend to waste your time on this game design nonsense
Well, I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
