What is Variant mode?

Title. I didn't really experiment with it since it was added because I jumped straight into Chapter 9 and I'm focusing on that one bit by bit, but I'm really curious about this "Variant" thing.

Various modifiers for the game, some of which is present in assist mode. Things like playing as Badeline, super dashes, 360 dashing, low friction, no grabbing, invisible, flip 180% horizontally, speed up or slow down the game, and hiccups (Madeline will do a little hop interrupting most other actions, 5A isn't possible with it).
