The order doesn't matter except for incrementally pushing you forward so you don't feel burned out, hence people saying to do the C-sides and early A-sides first.
But yeaahhh, you should probably save Farewell for last :P
Yes. They are unlocked by beating all the B-sides. After you do so, a golden strawberry will appear at the beginning of each level. You have to take it all the way to the end to obtain it. If you die with one, you have to start the entire level over.
I mean, I only have 5/24 goldens (I already have the 1A dashless golden), but I'm about to be a fourth of the way there!
...My god.
I'm gonna go try my hand at C-Side goldens since those ones are so short. Just know that if you want them, they're possible. If you don't, they don't even affect the percentage, so you don't have to. But I've decided what I'll do.
I'm still shaking from getting the 6A golden.
There is one cassette tape in each level (except Chapter 9) and they unlock the B-side of that level, which is much more difficult remix of the mechanics and challenges of the 'A-side', the regular version of the level. Cassettes are found in side-areas that may not be obvious.
