How to activate Cheat Mode?
Can't find this anywhere.

On a keyboard with defaut controls, input "Left Right Tab Z Up Up Down Left Z C". On a controller with default controls, input "Left Right LT RT Up Up Down Left RT A". Unlike Assist Mode, this code will unlock all levels of every chapter in the game, but not affect your collectible counts.

Look on the Title Screen.
If you're talking about assist mode, you can turn it on at the file select menu.

Cheat Mode is separate from the Assist Mode.
You activate it by entering a code while in a specific screen.

It is cheating.

Assist-Mode as a name is just an euphemism, that was chosen, so that people who are using it don't feel so bad about it. But they never have to, at least not for others, even when it's called cheating.

D.B.A.D., dude. It's not cheating any more than a wheelchair ramp is cheating for stairs. Not everyone can take the stairs like you, and not everyone wants to. Don't call them cheaters just because they can't or don't want to face as hard a challenge as you. They still have to get up the metaphorical ramp, and it's not like they're saying they took the metaphorical stairs and expecting as much respect.

Dang, that's a really nice analogy actually. Do you mind if I use that when explaining assist mode to others IRL?

That's an unfitting analogy, plattformers are designed around challenge if you buy an plattformer you should expect that. Climbing stairs is nothing else than moving to a certain point. Special controllers with inputs for people who have no arms for example would be the wheelchair ramp, because they help you to actually play the game, like moving to a certain point is just filler to your actual destination.

Even if you say they are wheelchair ramps, what's with people who absolutely do not suffer from any physical and cognitive disadvantage? Why can't people just admit that they suck, there's no one blaming you for cheating, just stop to legitimize this playstyle by comparing it to the intended experience.

If the devs dont call it cheating, its not cheating. Cheat mode, is cheating. It is literally named: CHEAT MODE. Assist mode is made for those who cant beat the game and want help with it. ASSIST. Not cheat. ASSIST. Assist mode is made for assisting people with climbing the mountain, cheat mode is made for skipping everything and unlocking variant mode without even trying.

And I didnt use cheat mode on my main save, that one has the pain and agony a normal play through of celeste causes.

You can skip everything in assist mode as well without even trying. There is bascially not a great difference anymore between those two modes.
