This video, it's just the ending of the game with no strawberries.
All of a sudden, it's copyright claimed?
How is this allowed to happen?

It was an automated process that we had no control over. Our musician turned it off about 2 weeks ago though so the algorithm shouldn't be claiming anything anymore.

Youtube being youtube.
You can dispute it and send them this link: http://www.celestegame.com/letsplay.html

The dev are ok with this content but YT is dumb and autimatized.

They already did 2 weeks ago, youtube is still claiming things anyway, because youtube is youtube.

Yeah, apologies if your video was claimed - but like I said above as far as I know we have no control over it and all automated systems on our end have been disabled. Hopefully it stops happening. You should be able to dispute the claim as we have publicly stated videos of Celeste are fine[www.celestegame.com].

As they said, they can't do anything more than what they already did. You gotta send messages to the Youtube staff, they're the ones who ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up with their awful automated stuff.

just send an appeal to youtube under the opyright section, and in the details, tell them they have the rights to the music, and link the dev's post if needed.
my claim was removed after i sent an appeal.

huh. Found this conversation after getting an email about a video of my own. Looking into it, it seems very much to be a non-issue, just a notification that the label that released the album - Audiam - is asserting that they have a copyright on the music, which afaik they do. The video isn't being taken down or anything - though that might be because I do not have the video monetized, and it does say that the copyright owner *may* put ads on the video themselves (though they have not at present.)

If they did add ads, I'd be slightly annoyed in principle, though not *really* bothered as I'm not really a youtuber, just occassionally use youtube to share vids like I would imgur, etc. to share pics. The video probably had 90% of the views it would ever have in the first 24 hours in any case.

Anyway, my point in bumping this, to the extent I have one, is to wonder if I should even bother with disputing? For my own end, as I explained, I don't really care since they're not pulling the video or anything, but if this is a case of youtube acting against the wishes and intentions of Matt Makes Games and/or Lena Raine, then I will dispute on principle for their sakes, to help make the point to YouTube to get their ♥♥♥♥ together.

so end of march, and now ALL of my celest vods are copyright claimed. and they are not doing crap about it.
i appealed all of them, and they just igmore the appeals. so 6 months ofthem illegally monetizing my vids .

seriously.
out of you hands?
by hpow far?
its YOUR game.
never ever again uploading any content for that game in my life.
this is borderline pathetic abuse of fair use.

This is why gamers are hopping to Twitch.

Truth is - you see stuff like anime music videos and stuff all the time - but Gaming channels are unfairly cracked down upon. Change your "channel" to something like Lifestyle, and poof! No more issues.

This is not Matt's or Lena's fault; and the fact that mirrors of the OST are still uploaded unchecked proves this. If there's anything that should be contended, it's that.

The only other thing I could imagine is if maybe NINTENDO is claiming this as part of their deal (there's been a lot of Nintendo stuff being content ID'd this past year or so, except certain specific whitelisted accounts).
