Does in-game play time count while it's paused?

I don't mean steam time count, but rather the one you see in your "journal" or whatever it's called.
I tend to pause it if i'll be back in up to 20 minutes so I was wondering.

no. I've got 14hrs of steam time, but my journal says 12hrs. So it must only count in game and not the menu.
