I passed everything fairly easily, and then bam; stuck on flag 03 for longer than it took to pass the entire level.
And I see no hope of getting to flag 02; I have died more times than on the entire level just trying to grab the first spike-rock without spending a dash and still can't do it.
Why bother trying to grab it? There's something much more useful to do with it instead. The last few flags have all involved it heavily.
On my mind I grab it, jump from it and dash on the wall to reach the other with a single dash then use the last dash to get to the 02 flag.
Then there is a mechanich which never appeared on the game yet, using a dash on ground and super-jumping with it while retaining the two dashes; I tried some times with it and it is much harder to try to use the dash and jump mid-air then to just grab the rock, counting that I learn to precisley grab the thing. And as the mechanich never appeared yet then I can only suppose it is not needed to pass.
I will try the flag 03 later; I never got stuck like that and it was a very strange experience on something that seems so simple. Perhaps I just got on a slump and the problem isn't with the stage itself. i.i .
I would rather never leave the place than ever watch a video of it.
The wall-dash is used on the wall above the spiked thing, but to be able to dash at the wall you need first grab the spiked thing and then dash up or use the mid-dash jump to pass the spiked thing (which requires a mid-air dash that is much less accurate than if you just grab the spiked thing and dash up).
I tried some minutes yesterday, using the mid-air dash as grabbing the thing is too broken to do, but even with the wall-dash technique it would hit the ceiling and take me not much farther than a normal jump. I suppose I need to do it at the beginning of the wall with the full power of the dash, still it seems the stage could be better architected.
I see, I would take some time until I, by luck, find that possibility. i.i .
With that in mind I just tried I saw how viable it was; although I ignored the first spike and simply went up the wall, jumped normally from the wall over the blue crystals and then used the technique off the last spiked-block.
What an awful part haha.
The Summit B-Side is very well designed. A mixture of challenging platforming and strategic puzzles are required to get through this. The last section is especially fun IMHO. Can't wait to see what lies after flag 2.
On topic, I don't remember what was required here, but most likely it involves clever usage of the new mechanic introduced by the bird, dashing up then jumping for a boost.
Ain't that the truth.
