Secret in Reflections

There is a secret place in the chapter Reflections above the elevator car the old woman is by. It looks like you can climb higher but I can't figure out how. Does anyone know more about this?

I found the same secret and desperately tried over and over to get higher, but to no avail.

Try using assist mode to get up.

You can reach it without assist mode by using a couple special techniques that you learn in B- and C-side levels.
