She doesn't present any characteristics of Dysphoria. You could potentially infer Badeline as being thematic of her body issues but that's far fetched. The motif of personal reflection is only used to convey her anxieties and self-doubt. Badeline is also representative of her fight or flight defense mechanism.
So I don't think it would make much sense in any scenario to make Madeline trans, besides petty tokenism.
By themselves it might seem like a bit of a stretch to interpret any one of these hints as Madeline being trans, but all of these together, especially the damn obvious trans flag, seem like more than coincidence.
Madeline said trans rights, deal with it.
Also, about the pills, she said in the main game that she doesn't take antidepressants, but this was before she had really any kind of treatment. She might have them now. I'm not saying there's no evidence for Madeline being trans but it seems like a bit of a stretch when something else would make more sense.
Second of all, surprise to no one, the "is this cringe" thread turns out to be the cringiest thing of all. Y'all really filling diapers over CASETTE TAPES of all things and the idea a fictional character might be trans. Embarrassing
Hey man, I just wanted to know how the story was, because I've heard mixed things.
But honestly, if we're going gender politics with a bunch of characters, I think I'm out. Those kind of games tend to come off as pretty preachy and pandering.
You'll pass off a GOTY because you think it might have "gender politics" after seeing it has cassette tapes and people on a forum saying a character is trans
You realize you're the preachy one who wants to be pandered to, right
Honestly, the cassettes within the game are harmless and only reflect the nature of the game's B &C Sides. I think your anti-hipster bias is just getting to you.
Anyway, Celeste isn't really political. The most political things within in the game are two flags; a pride and trans flag. And they're in exactly one scene. Unless you're One Angry Game, it shouldn't bother you.
And I'm not really interested in that subject matter. Its like a gay dating sim: its fine that they exist and I'm sure there are people who like them, but I'm not gonna play em.
