Sorting option for containers

Wouljd it be possible add a sorting option for containers, maybe a hotkey or something so you dont have to scroll through that long page on the large container to see what you have

Hmm, so it would sort everything with a type of an item/resource, and you could cycle through different item types showing first?

i was thinking of maybe more of an alphabetical sorting option like a hotkey, so it goups all of one type together(iron stacks next to each other, same with mechanical, and such) just to get in idea of what you have instead of scrolling through 120 slots since you tend to be left with gaps. maybe even a filter option for instance have 4 small containers, one only takes iron, one silicon, one carbon, one basic frames. as someone who can do some serious mass production it would be handy to keep things organized. hmmmm..... inventory panel perhaps???

I second this item, sort by type of resource first (like all ores), then within that type (so carbon, gold, iron, titanium, etc). Also, maybe have a button to switch machines to put their output to connected containers (largest to smallest). Perhaps add a button to every inventory window to "evacuate items" or something, to just dump everything to container(s) when possible (perhaps toggle-able between off/once/auto. I think inventory management has been the largest annoyance so far, but otherwise I love the game!

How about an auto sorter like the Nexus mod for Subnatica? Assign the object for a container and the conveyor will deposit in the appropriate spot. Maybe a device that pulls it out of your vehicle too. If you don't have a mobile base.

I would love a way to sort ores into specific containers and prevent overflow into other containers if full, despite being connected together. The current system of filling all of them randomly and then overflowing into other containers, 3D Printers and other stations is silly.

I need them all connected to the 3D Printer etc but to try printing something, only to find that you have no carbon, (which is used more than any other resource), because other ores have filled all the slots is ridiculous.

However, a basic sort in individual containers would be a good start.

Is it still too late to request sorting? because Any type of sorting would be good for me. So long as it moves everything to the top of the container and groups them with like materials, carbon first then iron then silicon, cobalt etc etc. So i can count my stacks a bit easier.
Or even a terminal plugin that lists how many of X item is within X structure. So i know the total amount of enriched uranium for example.

Oh and have it automatically combine stacks, so instead of having a stack of 34 and a stack of 22, it'll just automatically combine them without me having to manually do it.
