Question: Air Blades & Speed
I have what I think is a nice looking ship, but it is very slow (22.4Mph max) so I want to add some Small Air Blades to increase its cruising speed. From what I've read, everyone seems to agree that speed is best achieved with the small blades: do they NEED to be turned vertical? Or will they still provide a nice boost by just having a few of them?

Also, I did conduct a small test by building a little craft. When the blades a vertical, do they only increase speed when I press the button to Lift-off, or did I do something wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help / tips.

I've had my luck with small ones. Try to turn stability off on a few if you can. Turning if off on all of them will not allow the craft to hover on its own. And you can get more speed if you use hover up as well as going forward. Might help more if your craft is a bit nose down. But I average 86-90 km/h with my X-Wing

The craft I'm tryying to speed up is this one

Those two "pantoons" are hollow and are big enough to house several blades (5 each), and I think the Large blades will keep it airborne once I rebalance the weight.

I haven't done too much with the large ones other than the helicarrier but if they are the same as the wheels then the large air blades will have more power but less speed

Oh, no  I'm not gonna use the large blades vertical, I'm just saying they should keep the ship in the air if I turn off stablization on the small blades. I hope.

Not sure but it's a good idea. Let me know how it goes

Did experiment on them earlier adding vertical small blades mixing with big blades unfortunately doesn't help in pushing it forward...if not bogging it down further.

At the moment, big and small airblades doesn't seems to work in conjunction with anything except themshelves and oddly hoverpads...

However, using the small blades as stabilizer while a big blade as a main vertical motive had yet to be tested thou.

That blows, I'm already pretty deep into the reconstruction, too far to stop. May as well finish and at least test it.

Nothing harm trying for empirical purpose go go experiment!

I finished up last night but I fell asleep.

With 10 additional Small Airblades, my top speed increased by... zero :tcry:

Apparently this is a glitch / conflict and the Devs did in fact fix it, but it was part of that patch with the "time-change button" which got rolled-back due to something causing lag.

I guess it's less trouble to leave the blades there rather than remove them since they are inside the pontoons and can not be seen anyway.

I found your solution!!!! you can get to 34 or faster!! look at my screen shots, I tried an experiment, you'll need to make sure its a balanced system and that you are easy on the throttle, but as it stands, my build is around 3x bigger, but now my speed is great, I plan to make a seperate system to test soon, as in I plan to add 2 more wheels on seperate switch, once high enough, turn the Warp drive on and zip! arrive much faster,

And Xhulow's solution to your problem!
(it is basic the same thing done by WolfNomad0013)

It's construction

A much clearer close up
(also test the buggy wheel version not much different except reaction speed seem like a few seconds faster other wise max speed is the same)

I put my ship in dry-dock yesterday and started building a new one. I don't want to move it because I'm certain I'd never get it back on the dry-dock again in a million years.

Oh bummer, I am curious about it finally having a warp drive in it.

Due to the size of the new ship, I will need all the tricks possible just to get it off the construction jack, so I'll do it for this one.

So I presume there will be a even bigger build coming up?
