If the suggestion for greenhouses to produce biomass as a byproduct ever comes true (it hasn't yet, has it?), you could theoretically set the greenhouse to produce seeds and be able to just pump in water and have it replenish the seeds while creating some biomass in the process. It wouldn't be a quick way to collect, but it would be a slow self-sustaining method.
Then just kill the spawns as they come at you and gather from the corpses.
I know you can run up to a nest and gather from it the same way you can for fruit and herbs but I've never bothered to find out if that can be done multiple times on a timer as its easier to just slaughter the beasts.
