Duck Season

Are you guys joking with the positive reviews?
You spend 2/3s of the game doing boring shooting, and then hope you MIGHT encounter something scary eventually. The pace of this game is total garbage, and the ending isn't worth the effort in any reasonable way.

nope .....enjoy ya trolling :)

It's not even trolling. The vast majority of this game is boring shooting over and over again.

just played 14 mins...will refund , dont liked, the scale way off, bad controls, no graphics option
Adamer Nov 27, 2017 @ 3:48pm
Exactly, it's terrible.

Come on its not that bad! The scale is set that way to imply youre a kid, there are loads of easter eggs to find if you mess around with the things in the room and if you were an eighties kid there are references in there that will make you smile. The way the atmosphere creeps in is well done in my opinion and the actual using of the shotgun has been pulled off well. Its not that long but i think if it was longer it would be boring, its seems just about right in the normal setting, if anything too easy. Remember its not just about the duck hunt!

Bait

I agree. I am an 80's kid and love it all (especially like Rock of Ages the Movie). However, this game is lacking. Maybe I was expecting more with all the awesome reviews. I feel that the "7 endings" are a ploy to make you shoot, gasp, ANOTHER 200 ducks before you get to something good. Yes, it is a fun game, but I think it could be so much more. Maybe make the shooting in between "scenes" only 1 or 2 levels, not three. For Pete's sake, if you like shooting the ducks that much, just go to practice.

LOL, it's my VR game of the year 2017. Maybe your jaded and think all games have to be GTA 5 or FPS? The original Nintendo Duck Hunt, guess what you did? You shot ducks. THAT'S IT. You didn't have a room, mini-movies to watch, magazines to read, other mini-games to play or any resemblance to a narrative.. instead, you just shot birds. So, as a VR updated inspired version of Duck Hunt, I am very happy they stuck to mainly shooting birds. Anyway, I am 99% sure this is bait, as all reviews have been beyond positive... so I'm done feeding. Just figure not all games are for everyone.. and obviously, this widely acclaimed title is not for you. I can understand that, as I absolutely hate the Call of Duty series.. but reviewers and people tend to like that game too for some unknown to me, reason.

Then just refund the game jesus VR is still a lil baby that needs to grow the devs made this to give a taste of what can be made.

I know this is crazy, but people have different opinions than you. I find the shooting to be enjoyable. I get your reasoning for not liking it, but I rarely found it to be boring.

While it can be said opinions are subjective, this game is objectively not worth the price. What do you get for the asking price? A single room you pick random stuff up and throw around in VR in between levels with slight alterations in between. Each level is duck hunt with a very annoying shotgun for ten rounds. The horror? Shoot the dog like crazy and then you get a tiny bit of horror near the very end.

And guess what? The horror aspect sucks. You see him twice by a window(Once opposite the sink if I recall correctly) and once fleetingly passing by the main window. There's also a chance to see his paw in the bathroom I believe. Then there's a single, genuinely surprising and decent part: When you turn around while playing duck hunt near the end of the game you see yourself sitting down in the living room playing the game with the dog standing behind you. Effective but that's all that happens. There's also a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up video of someone with a camera recording a child playing the game.

After this? The end is where you see the mother dead lying in a pool of her blood in the kitchen before you play the last round and magically get a blaster to shoot the dog. The game takes an hour and a half to beat. It's got cheap "multiple endings" to pad out the game time. That's multiple times playing the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ copy paste levels over and over. The game can be summed up as "Copy and Paste: The Game."

It is an objectively bad game for the asking price. It's incredibly shallow, boring and there are no worth while gameplay mechanics in it. It's completely overpriced at 20 bucks even at 15 it's overpirced. It should have been a demo. What's on offer is nothing worthy of retail price. Too many VR demos are being charged for.

I'll agree with some of your points. Not everyone enjoys doing the same task over and over again for around an hour. And even I'll admit by the end of the 10 hours that were required of me to get all 7 endings, it was getting somewhat stale. I can also agree with the price. It doesn't have enough content for the price IMO. But that doesn't mean people can't give it good reviews. You say it is objectively not worth the price. Yet, others seemingly love this game, and have had no regrets with the price. Is there some sort of law of the universe that says, "Duck Season isn't worth the price"? Of course there isn't. It's not a fact. Even if it's agreed on by most people, that doesn't make it a true statement. People can still disagree with that. So I'm quite confused by your remarks that this game is objectively bad. This still feels like a subjective review.

Complains about having to shoot ducks, the original duck hunt game was just that with little or no variation for hours, and this is that but with a twist. Kids these days feel so entitled its crazy. I dont even own the game yet because the htc vive I ordered was DOA so I have to wait for that.
