If you can read, the store page says "Virtual reality headset required" So yes, unless you are some hacking wizard, you need a VR headset.

well its probley possable if lik prelude stated if you are some kinda hacker programer what ever ... but this is a vr game and the effect that the game delivers just would not convey so well on a 2d screen my advice is if you got a good rig or laptop that can handle vr save up for a htc(thats what me and my stepson use) or rift(one of my friends use) both in fairness are very much the same so i hope u get to enjoy vr someday :)

Duck Season is a VR only title. It just wouldn't work without it.

If the developers wanted to, they could make it work without VR. Because VR adds nothing a good screen can't produce and has a heap of downsides that regular monitors don't suffer from, including but not limited to a tone of incompatibility issues.

Umm the biggest selling point of VR is the immersion factor.... which you don't get at all from a screen. Sure Elite Dangerous is fun flying a ship through space, but its a totally different experience when you're actually sitting in your ship.

Sure they could make a game like Duck Season for 2D screens but it would lose its charm, some themes in the game just wouldn't work, and the duck shooting would bore most players. VR has that interactivity of you actually loading and firing the gun which in most cases makes up for the rather basic gameplay.

VR headset only? Or VR Headset and controller. Sorry, I am 48 and trying to figure this out for my 8 year old. He showed me a video of someone plaaying and they had a controller in their hands.

This STEAM account is on a Laptop and not a Gaming Platform.

Is it best to make this work on the laptop or one of the other platforms?

Sorry to tell you this, but most VR games require an at least good computer. Running one on a laptop would be borderline impossible. Hope you work something out, VR is a great source of exercise.
