Reputation Loss For Ignoring Jokes?
This actually pisses me off I get joke calls and I tell them not to call the line and then I ignore the call but I lose Reputation points, wait what? How does that work but even if I send somebody over I ALSO lose points so what am I supposed to do? Just let it sit there?

Yeah, so where I'm from, the police would be sent to caller, but not by the emergency dispatch centre. A hoax call is, by definition, not a life or death emergency that requires an instant response.

If you can work out which calls you should let the developer/creator know so that they can fix it.
Side note, I believe you’ll always lose -9 for a call timing out.

The call where someone calls and sings to you made me lose rep when I sent an officer to fine him. Isn't that the proper response??? You can't just let people troll you and waste your time.

Think they went by the logic that real life agencies don't have the time or resources to send someone out to that call - sending someone wastes more time than just ignoring the call.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Sometimes the joke calls, i.e. ordering pizza, are really a hostage who can't blatantly tell you they are being held captive. They use code words or yes and no questions to get across to the operator what's going on.

. I sang back to him and had some fun (it was a quiet duty) and if memory serves I think I RECIEVED 1 or 2 rep points - it was fun lol

I went looking for this because I got that guy who called to complain the power went out while he was playing a game. I went through enough of the conversation to know there was no emergency (and develop a deep seething hatred for him and everyone like him), told him not to block the line, then clicked the HANG UP option. Not the Ignore, the HANG UP. I got 3 points off and I don't see why. Was I supposed to send police to his house to punish him?

Oh I really like that guy CrescentMinor :steamhappy:

Keeping him on the line delays all of the other messages coming through and makes the game SO much easier ;)

He's got one of the best voice actors in the dialogue too... he's really nailed the afro-American screw you I wanna play Fortnite personality!

It was actually a bug! We've noticed it thanks to you and it should work fine after next update.
