Whenever you see the Creature stunned and can't move, that is the perfect moment to just drop everything and run away. Staring at the Creature doesn't do anything besides make him gain ground and make you go insane. Running is an absolute must if you want to survive longer than 5 minutes.

Move with the team then, run where they run. If you do somehow get lost, that's what the shout button is for. Even then, the sound of your flashlight turning on/off is actually a great way to tell your location, as it makes a reliable sound that can pinpoint where you are. Just kinda spam that flashlight button if you know you're near the Investigators and only rely on the shout button when necessary, as the Creature sees it as well.

Tip to avoid getting separated on pursuits: If you see the creature and he starts pursuing another investigator, don't run away, just keep at a safe distance so you can A) save your partner if it gets caught B) don't lose track of him and C) you can even slow the creature to help your partner (watch out not to get crazy while doing this).

Also remember to throw lightsticks to lit your way and slow the monster down (depending on the situation, it may be useful to throw it in your path or drop it in place by holding the button).

Thanks for the tips :D but I have another tip about the "insanity" is there a limit on how much you can look at the enemy?, I mean, when you go crazy I know that you get stunned for like 3 seconds, but does the "meter" go down to 0% again?, and does the percentage go down to 0% after some time of not seeing him?

Hold on, lemme do my RNG impersonation. *clears throat*

Well, if you'd like tips on playing the game, may I recommend my (RNG's) guide?

It covers pretty much everything you'll ever need to know and then some!

(RNG is the name of a forum-goer and a huge fan of WN2, and his shameless self promotion of his guide has slowly become a meme)

Regarding your question about sanity: Yes and No, let me explain.

You recover sanity by stopping to look at the creature, idols, etc. However, there's some permanent "damage" everytime you lose sanity. In short, the more you stare/become insane, the more frequently you'll lose sanity later.

In short: Staring is a bad thing and might harm you in the future, so try to avoid if possible.

Eh, it depends. Iker and Anne Marie can both afford to stare, even in the lategame. "Caboosing" the monster is a viable strategy with the right build.

Although of course you can't always stare, at some point you're going to have run.
