Report a translation problem
I had another player suggest moving the map, so I did give it some thought. The problem is, the map is rather large & you need some resolution at picking destinations and showing icons. If it was laid out flat, it would be at a hard angle to view & point at. If I tipped it up, it would start blocking the view out the "windshield". The center, standing facing forward seems to work the best in practice.
If you can see pirates on your radar (red ships), then they can see you -- unless you are cloaked or among space rocks. You can trade with planets (stations & ships too), but a pirate warping in will interrupt the process if one is on your tail. You can sometimes make a deal with the pirate by giving him a part, which will make him neutral & leave -- so you can continue communicating with the planet (or station).
If something needs to be fixed or improved, I'm on it. However, it is generally considered "feature complete", since it is a value title @ $3.99. It does reference planet Xax, which is the primary planet in much of my previous RPG titles. :-)
