Thank you for reaching out today. I'm sorry to hear that your Oculus Quest 2 controllers are not detected in Batman Arkham VR and I understand that you want to prevent this from happening so that you can start playing and progressing in the game.
While I'll do my best to assist, due to the age of this title and the platforms it's available on, there may not be future game updates or troubleshooting options available to me are limited. Here are some steps I think might help.
I would like for you to verify the integrity of your game files as this would allow Steam to detect any corrupted or missing data from the game that could affect the overall performance of the game. You may follow the steps below.
1. Go to [Library] in Steam.
2. Locate Batman Arkham VR in your library, right-click on it and select [Properties].
3. Click the [Local Files] tab.
4. From here, select [Verify Integrity of Game Files]
If your game files are properly verified, you may try checking your controller in Big Picture Mode.
1.) Open Steam
2.) Click on View at the upper left part of your Steam window
3.) Click on Big Picture Mode
4.) On the Big Picture Mode, click on the cog icon at the upper right of your screen and click on Controller Settings
5.) You should be able to see your controller as detected on the bottom of the screen when your Controller is connected
6.) Click on the checkbox for Configuration Support and uncheck any other configuration support you can see.
If there is anything I can do to further assist you with this issue, please reply to this email and I will be happy to help.
Thank you,
Moon

Just Create a desktop shortcut of your game
(ex: E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham VR\ArkhamVR\Binaries\Win64\ArkhamVR.exe).
after close all apps on your pc and launch virtual desktop with your headset.
after with your controller double tap on your game shortcut.
Steam Launch and 2 seconds later Batman VR Launch...
in game, press menu button on your left controller (now steam menu open).
Go in Controller Setup (By default is Oculus Touch Controller with default binding).
Click on customize button mapping and after choose shared binding from cain. Return in your game and have fun.
(sorry for my bad language. i speak french).
What is also happening is steam vr is stopping, and yet the vr headset is still running ok and can be played with a controller.
