QFG5 blackbird question

I'm up to the Rite of Peace as a thief, and I'm supposed to be able to meet Elsa in my room at night in order to go to Minos Island to get the blackbird. However, at this point I've had her visit my room once, only to allow for discussion about her thoughts concerning Minos. I guess my question would be, is there a particular night that Elsa is supposed to show up to take me to the island so I can get the blackbird?

I MIGHT be forgetting some steps, but did you ever show Elsa the thief's sign?
Did you take part in the chief thief contest (thieves guild contest)?
Did you talk to both Arestes and
Ferrari about the blackbird?

I'm sure I haven't shown Elsa the thief sign, so if that's a requirement, I may have to load up an earlier save point and work back up to that point. I know that I have entered the chief thief contest and at least talked to Ferrari about the blackbird, although I'm not sure if I've talked to Arestes about it. I might look into that before I do anything else.

That’s not a good sign :s
I don’t remember exactly when was the last time you could show the thief sign to Elsa, but you might have to go quite far behind. It might not worth it.
If you prefer, here’s a suggestion:
Complete the game, you aren’t that far from the end.
Restart a new game as a thief, and give yourself a bow (or I can give one to you of you aren’t confortable with hex editing). That way, you can try getting the Blackbird side quest while playing the game a little differently :p
