You could try increasing the amount of RAM that is used, which is usually counter-intuitive, but most computers playing this will have no problem with the 100 MB max listed in the set-up from the launcher.
For graphics, try either. I'm not sure which would work better. For graphics filter, I would try none as a start, and move up from there. Obviously anti-aliasing will slow it down more, so I would stay with the nearest-neighbor filters.
There's no issue per say with Windows 10. I was having problems with this back on Windows 7.
Another option would be to go back and play version 1.0 of the game. A lot of what was patched in version 2.0 caused problems in other areas. Let me know if you need help with that.
Sadly i tested all the options i got from the luncher already without success.
The game is playable but especially the fights are very slow and not very funny.
I was suprised how fast people on youtube can play this game so i thought its maybe a known issue from win10.
Well i think i finish it now even if it is a chore and hope that wages of war runs better, i am at day 7 now so i am halfway through anyway.
Good luck!
1. Install Adventure Game Studio (As of writing, on version 3.6.1)
2. Navigate to the installation directory
(should be 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Adventure Game Studio 3.6.1')
3. Copy 'acwin.exe' AND 'SDL2.dll'
4. Paste into the installation location of QFG2 VGA (should be 'C:\Program Files (x86)\AGD Interactive\Quest for Glory II')
5. Run 'acwin.exe' from the QFG2VGA location
6. Enjoy QFG2VGA at blazing fast modern PC speeds!
(OPTIONAL: In the QFG2 VGA directory, rename 'Qfg2vga.exe' to 'Qfg2vga(backup).exe', then in the same directory, rename 'acwin.exe' to 'Qfg2vga.exe'. This will permanently fix the problem on your installation, and you can run the game normally, such as from the launcher)
