This post has convinced me to buy your game. :laugh_lif:

@The Fox, I totally accept that they are at different levels of quality and I acknowledge this clearly in my post. I also acknowledge this by pricing my game accordingly. My game is made by a single person, and No Man's Sky by a full time company with a large budget. But, people have asked how my game differs and I feel it is important to provide some information on this.

I respect your opinion, and would encourage you to play the game(s) that you enjoy most. Some people buy Minis because they are less expensive, but some people actually prefer to have a smaller car. Ultimately, they are both cars and serve the same general purpose.

@Homiccus I hope you enjoy it! I am always interested in player feedback, and will continue to work to improve Star Explorers.

The grandfather of procGen space games would probably be Starflight, published by Interplay back in 1986. The genre has been around for decades. NMS didn't invent the genre, and Star Explorers certainly isn't a rip off of NMS. As the saying goes, "All art is derivative."

@EvilDastard - That is right. The unfortunate part about this is really down to timing.

Don't worry MK, people are trolling. If Star Explorers was rip of NMS, then any space game with planet landings could be called the same. Which is obvious nonsense. Don't care about stupid kids whinning, just enjoy your development work. The game is kinda compact, yet immersive and entertaining and keeps getting better.

@NGX I appreciate that. However, I think given the popularity of NMS it makes sense for there to be some information available on how Star Explorers is different. One player review mentions that if No Man's Sky were Star Wars, then Star Explorers would be Star Trek. While I love this analogy, I don't know whether it can actually be quantified in any way, so I picked three features that really are demonstrably different.
