I will wait later with Redshift cause i will try to Houdini indie from inside and i learn to use it too.
I've found the houdini.env, however I can't find the exe to write the path on the .env file.
Does anyone knows where is the app installed?
Program Files (x86)\steamapps\common\Houdini Indie\bin\hindie.steam
You can change the version of Houdini Indie on Steam by following these steps:
-Right click on Houdini Indie in your Steam library
-Select Properties
-Go to the Betas tab
-Select the beta/version of Houdini Indie to use on Steam
I'd suggest trying the "H17.5.173 for Redshift" version first. As the Redshift plugin is updated for newer versions of Houdini Indie we will update Houdini Indie on Steam. Let us know if there's a specific version of Houdini Indie that you need that is missing from Steam.
I corrected "houdini.env" file as recommended by "https://docs.redshift3d.com/display/RSDOCS/Custom+Install+Locations?product=houdini". That helped me. Good luke!
I have houdini Indie version (gold edition macOS). Im looking for houdini.env but i cant find anywhere (also searching whole disc) .
I found information that redshift works with specific versions of houdini so i should downgrade houdini indie by steam but anyway i dont have file that install instructions talks about. Is that macOS Steam version have specific another way to install or i should have houdini.env somewhere ?
You can try running sudo find / -name "houdini.env" and among the file paths that appear look for one listed under the Steam installation directory. It may be /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/1508777305/502570/ac/MacHome/Library/Preferences/houdini/19.5/houdini.env. The numbers in the path should be the same on your system but if it isn't you can look for the file using the command sudo find / -name "houdini.env" in a terminal.
