Could you tell us what version/build of houdini you have currently installed?
You can get it from the splash screen.
The error seems to imply that your files might have been corrupted or not properly downloaded after the latest update, could you try deleting then reinstalling Houdini Indie?
You can also try right clicking on houdini indie on steam, selecting properties, and click on "verify integrity of the application files" in the "local files" tabs.
I tried to reinstall it, but it is the same error.
I have verified the integrity, but I get a similar error.
I want to be able to use it quickly.
How should Houdini Indie on Steam use the Steam license system specification?
-----------------------------
When you installed Houdini Indie, did you also install the License Server component?
Houdini Indie on Steam is functionally identical to Houdini Indie from us. The the only difference is that Houdini Indie on Steam uses Steam's licensing system and Houdini Indie from our website uses our licensing system.
In the diagnostic file:
Server Version: sesinetd4.x
This usually means that either the license server software (HoudiniLicenseServer) is not running or the client program hserver.exe cannot communicate with the server program (sesinetd.exe). I also noticed that there are no license keystrings in the file.
You will need to contact Steam since you will be using their licensing system.
I hope this helps.
-----------------------------
I really doubt that your issue is related to the license manager or steam licensing..
If your steam install is fine, the error seem to imply that there is an issue with characters in the path to your houdini home directory...
(generally on windows, C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\houdini17.5)
What is your windows user name? does it contain any non ascii character?
Try again to render when logged as that user, this should solve your issue.
Unfortunately, Houdini doesn't currently support file paths that have non-ASCII characters on Windows.
