Is there a site where all the different mods are listed and available for download?

Thanks!

Is the Rebalnce Mod V1.23 the most popular currently? I had tried the surrender one and hated it. TIA!

That and Pandakraut's UI and AI mod.

List of current mods: https://forum.game-labs.net/topic/26600-available-mods/

UI and AI is the base game and some bug fixes and usability improvements. Rebalance is if you want something different from the base game and increased difficulty.

Re: downloading UI/AI 1.6 - using pathway Users/ID/AppData/LocalLow/Game Labs/UGCW, there is no Data file in which to put the zip file. Do I need to create an empty one?

No, you don't need to create a location. That path is most likely where your savegame files are located.

The path you need should be similar to the following:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ultimate General Civil War\Ultimate General Civil War_Data

You will know if you are at the right path if it asks you if you want to replace files, which the answer is yes.

Using your pathway I do not find UGCW. The common folder has a Steamworks shared folder which does not contain UGCW

It may not be exact. Unfortunately, I'm not at my computer that has my exact pathway to my game files. Its a little different than the above one. When I get home I will give it to you if you haven't found it by then. Just keep in mind, your pathway my be a little different than mine.

In your steam library, right click ultimate general civil war and select properties. Select the local files tab and then click browse local files. This will open an explorer window to the games install directory. You should see a Ultimate General Civil War_Data folder which is where you want to copy the mod zip to and extract it.

I got it into the folder in my pathway, extracted it but did not get a prompt to overwrite the two files. Did it manually and got a screen freeze trying to load game. Had to uninstall reinstall. Stuck at the point of replacing the two new files CSharp.dll and resources.assets

If you did not get a prompt to overwrite when extracting you aren't extracting into the _data directory.

If you move the files manually you also have to move the Mod folder into the Ultimate General Civil War_Data folder. The game will not load if the config files in that folder are not in the right place.

If at any point something breaks with the mod or you want to go back to the base game you do not have to uninistall/reinstall. In the same properties local files as described above there is a verify integrity of local files option that will reset your files to the defaults.

The Mod is in the Data folder. Re-extracted it, got a message that three files would be replaced (probably the ones from the previous extraction) but no prompt. Loaded a game - no white range markers

Did you select the replace only option?Usually gives 3 options:
1. Replace files
2. Don't replace files
3. Replace and keep old files

You want option 1.

I figured it out. The suggested extraxtion folder was UGCW_Data\Mod 1.6. I just had to take off the Mod 1.6 to get it into Data folder. Thanks for your brainstorming, guys.
