Parrott Guns
I find these to be quite useless, even the 20 lb. I have yet to rout an enemy or destroy an artillery battery with one, even in Antietam when it had all day to take pot shots. Can we boost the accuracy for this class of artillery to make it worthwile?

Perhaps they're awesome at tier 3 but good luck getting them there. On the other hand, the 24 lb Howitzer is my favorite brigade. They rack up kills even when the enemy is in cover.

Stat wise the 20 Lb Parrot is roughly in line with the 20 Lb Howitzer. Destroying artillery battery with artillery in general takes forever which is why I don't do it unless absolutely necessary. Usually you get better results by canistering, firing with skirmishers, firing with infantry, charging, or outright ignoring enemy artillery. I just treat it as a slightly faster Howitzer that also has longer range. I think it does fine given I don't have access to 24 Lb Howitzer yet.

For green crew the 6 Lb Ordnance is usually what I use.

Comparable stats? lol....I can get 5000 kills with my 24 lb howitzer and i've yet to exceed 100 kills with a 20 lb parrott. Even the 10 lb parrott seems to do better. Even if I'm blasting into forest I can still get at least 1000 kills with the 24 lb.

What range are you using your Parrots at? Also what is the skill of your crew? In general I tend to get about the same kills with my artillery guns regardless of the weapon used (primarily since I only use canister shots) once crew skill and things like number of opponents certain fronts faced is taken into consideration. I haven't really gotten to use the 20 Lb parrot much since it's on green crew in my reinforcement corps so I don't have much to say but the 10 Pdr rifle cannon (not parrot) tends to do the same as the Napoleon for me. The tooltip for the 20 Pdr parrott shows comparable stats to howitzer afaik. Maybe the tooltip is lying.

The parrot brigade is pretty green, I admit, mosty because my experienced brigades have 24 guns so I cannot substitute my 12 parrots.

The weapon description specifically state that parrots aren't useful at close range, nor would I want to use them up close because they don't do splash damage and that would put an irreplaceable unit at risk.

Btw I got 1000 kills with a 10 lb parrot in Antietam while defending as Union on Hard....I think the 20 lb is broken.

The description for 10 Pdr Ordnance says it's not useful at close range but I still use it at close range and it outperformed the Napoleon last battle I used it in. Don't read too much into the description. I already left feedback last patch about how I felt the ingame guide was misleading payers.

Crew level is very important for artillery. Firearms affects accuracy. Efficiency affects amount killed. If you are training a green brigade by having it use a slow firing gun (The 20 Pdr Parrott) at far range it won't be getting many kills nor will it be leveling up fast. I recommend training a green brigade with 6 Pdrs (who cares if it dies and you can put it danger close for extra kills) until 40's in skills, switching to Napoleons, and then finally switching to the gun you want once the two important stats are 60 or higher.
