Ultimate General WW1?
I just realised- I would immediately buy a ww1 game with the great mechanics, gameplay, support and looks of this game. or about any other war by this company.

I would buy any period starting with ancients through whatever using this system. Since the basic campaign is not "dynamic" this would probably work best within a historical period that had several significant battles. Napoleonics to me being the obvious choice next.

I've said it before but Rome would awsome. Some sort of unit blockade function would probably need to exist to prevent blobbing but imagine fighting Cannae at this scale. Damn I tell you!!

yeah, an ancient times campaign would be cool. may not be even a specific period, just some big battles known to us from the ancient times. napoleonic wars would also be great, since some of the units already exist

Thats right. Basically everthing is allready there. Just change some of the guns, commanders and maps ... et voila ... UG:Napoleon.

Rome would be nice as well. But i prefer the Napoleon Wars.

WW1 would be interesting, but I'm afraid the battles wouldn't be very dynamic (at least on the Western front). A larger picture grand strategy game is more suited for that environment. Economy and resources were as important as military tactics in winning WW1.

I cant say, cant be done, but why would you? There is really nothing to play on WWI on the western front. Just frontal assault and die and die and die. Im all for wargames and I play all of them, but WWI all the books I reed about it.Goosebumps.Just feels like a sort of insult to the soldiers that that fought it. Dont get me wrong all wars have senseless battles and stupid commanders and governments, but that war. I mean The Somme 1.2 million casualties in 141 days.

Love the combat system and technically the civil war set the stage for trench warfare so I like where you are going but I really want a better dynamic game. Not one that just follows the actual historic events or battles.

An August/September 1914 based game would be a gem in mind.

Why does everyone keep asking for a WW1 game?

Battle of the Somme. I'll just march my army towards the enemy trenches....

Oh dear! Everyone is dead.
