+ or - Reloading?
Still can't figure out which is better +10% or -10% reloading?

+ 10% reloading is better. Faster reloading times, but it's a trade off. 10% lower accuracy. There's another skill that does the complete opposite I beleive. Depends on if you want a faster rate of fire, or higher accuracy.

Firing as much as possible is the key to winning battles. If you have more brigades firing faster with better rifles, you're almost guaranteed to win an engagement.

I usually make my elites accuracy and everyone else faster reload.

Usually a few brigades of melee focus.

if +10% is better then GUNNERY TRAINING on cannons makes no sense...
GUNNERY TRAINING : +10Gunnery -10% reloading
SHOOTING TRAINING: +10Gunnery +10% accuracy

so you are saying that with Gunnery I get +10 and worse reloading, but with Shooting I get the same +10 and better accuracy at the same time?

Sukha makes the point that prompted my question. Between Gunnery and Shooting Training you would never pick gunnery, Now if it were +10% reloading then the two choices would make sense.

-10% reloading time, reduces the time needed to reload thus increasing fire rate.
I recommend accuracy, as it's not a notable increase in loading speed, but a marginal increase in kills per volley will become more apparent as more volleys are fired.

It is pretty simple math but i get the confusion. Little example: You have a unit with a reload time of 10 seconds. Now add +10% reload to that. You will end up with a reload time of 11 seconds. That means your unit now takes one second longer to reload their weapons. If you want them to reload faster you have to go for -10% reload because then they will shoot every 9 instead of 10 seconds.

With accuracy it is the other way around. Minus gives you less and plus gives you more. Like i said, it is simple math but it can be really confusing sometimes. And in games where the devs mess this simple math up by turning it upside down you will end up being really confused.

I would 99% of the time take faster reloading. Using Malkor2's example, In 3 minutes (180 seconds) the -10% guys will release 20 volleys. The +10% guys will release 16.36 volleys. Like I said Im all about shooting more

I'm on the opposite side of this. I always prefer a harder hitting volley with a slower reload time. The harder a unit hits the greater the morale impact and the worse the targeted unit will perform. I would rather do as much initial damage as possible to potentially waiver a unit than have to wait for multiple volleys. Ideally I'm never in a situation where one of my units is exchanging enough volleys for the -10% to get a full extra volley off.

Hey pandakraut, do you happen to have the math for the calculation on reload time? Are we talking like 10 s x .9 = 9 s or 3 s x .9 = 2.7 s. Is the reload bonus applied before or after the efficiency component?
pandakraut Jan 4, 2019 @ 2:47pm
The calculation is (Weapon.BaseReload + skill.BaseReload) * FireArmsReloadDependancy.
FireArmsReloadDependancy is .85 to 1.05 from 0 to 100.
There is some wierd stuff going on with the weapon reload value, will have to look into it more.

skill.BaseReload = brigade perks and FireArmsReloadDependency = brigade efficiency stat?
I'd say more accuracy would be preferred in volleys, as more moral damage means that you take fewer volleys and deplete ammo slower, useful for longer battles. And the increased accuracy affects all volleys, not every volley afterwards. The reloading won't be noticed as well as the accuracy will be, as an extra couple kills per volley makes 20 volleys a bit more deadly.

skill.BaseReload is the bonus from any perks. FireArms Reload Dependency is based on the firearms stat. The Efficiency stat itself has no effect on reload speed that I can find though it does affect damage.

The ammo part is a good point, even more so for artillery.
