If you don't want or can't capture the object you can finish the mission before timer runs out, otherwise, you must wait till an object is fully captured. Same in UGG but instead of 'finish' button you must have your troops capturing the object - if you can't, timer gives you few minutes and the mission ends. In my understanding, it was made to prevent long stalemate when one side sit on the object and the other can't see the opportunity to capture it at all or without massive casualties, so it doesnt take any action as well
Agreed. Playing every grand mission for the first time always gives me a lot of confusion. Like "do i need to capture this object this day to not to get defeat or i can skip it for the next day or it is not necessary to capture it for the victory at all (most of those questions i had in the battle of Gettysburg)".
I wish there was an indication of what was gonna happen. In fact a flow chart explaining what happens when you take points (or dont) would be VERY helpful...
THAT, or just have all the battles work the same way. The confusion comes from the inconsistency TBH
Or maybe they could have saved battlefield progress like they did in UGG...............
By day 1 i guess I meant the first long day of assaulting stony ridge, not the mini skirmish at the beginning.
Yeah whats interesting about this battle is that the map is huge, but the enemy doesnt get that many units. A lot of them are small, 3 star infantry (which means dealing damage to them and beating them with attrition can definitely work) units. Attacking on the left flank, I was able to break into the forest easily, and roll up the flank. My reinforcements attacked center to help.
Somebody's read his history...
