Does the Armory # of guns available ever reset?
Say the armor right now has 8 cannon for sale that I want. But I don't want to field a battery unless I have 12. If I do another battle will the armory reset? Or should I buy those 8 now before they are gone forever?

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure that the armoUry is continuous and after a battle it gets reinforced like your manpower so the 8 will stay there

The Armory resets to interally set values after every Grand Battle. Meaning you're going to want to buy those guns now instead of later, because you don't get those same guns later.

Any proof of this? I don't really notice this myself.

There's a gradual reduction in muskets available in the armory as the war goes on if you don't touch them - that alone tells me armory levels are being changed to set numbers. The number of cannons available in the Armory for the Union should also increase to insane levels, especially the 6-Pounder Wiard and 3-Inch Ordnance Rifle. But they don't. I can guarantee that the number of M1855 Springfields I have after Antietam is going to be the same as the number you have after Antietam, somewhere in the range of 13k.

The guns in the shop don't accumulate. The post grand battle armory numbers are set regardless of outcome. Once you enter the next grand battle the guns available from the previous grand battle are lost forever.

Does it mean that it's worth to buy every rare equipment and use it later, after stockpiling some decent quantity? Like buying rare arty, even 1-2 pieces and forming battery while having 6 or more?

Yes, I do that for the Union and the 24 lb mortars. Before Bull Run you can buy 3 of them, not enough to make a brigade but if you buy those 3, play bull run, then buy the ones that appear after the battle and combine that with the reputation points for 4 more and you have a respectable brigade for Shiloh.

You should be stacking politics for career points at first so you are going to have more recruits and money than you know what to do with during the early battles. If you aren't frivolous, and have a plan for how you develop your army, you can easily stockpile future arms much quicker by simply buying what you plan to use in the future with your excess money before every big battle.

PS. It helps to think of it as a production run for that period before the last big battle, and there are other armies out there that will buy up what you do not, but you get first pickings. Every big battle they buy up all the remnants and the next production run is put out.

Thanks a lot for a clarification. Expected something like this but never tested it and now I know it's worth to stockpile rare weapons.

Yes indeed this is very good to know. I rather like that this is the case, it gives you a balance: do you want to spend money now on great gear that will be used later but then again that money isn't you helping you in the short terms.

Thanks for all the answers people!

yes all "old" weapon will be away and all new tech weapon come in as long when you are going long foward in campaign.

Don't forget too the goverment shop..buy weapon and save them in own store before they away(goverment) after all grand battle. so think with both armory shop and goverment shop.

now i has 2 corps full of rifles. a shame i have 80 rep left and i am only 2 small battle left and then last ultra battle in richmond. i learn a lots with that..cant wait when i start new with CSA!
rebels come, they dance and drink beer! :P
