Optimal Perk Builds for Brigades
I'm fairly new to UGCW—about 26 hours in—and I'm wondering if there are any optimal or recommended perk "builds" for your brigades.

Thus far, I've done my infantry brigades either with a combination of the morale boost and the firearms-accuracy perks, or with the stamina boost and the assault training perk. With artillery I've always gone for the extra ammo. With cavalry, I give my melee cavalry the morale boost, and give my skirmisher cavalry the one that boosts speed and stamina.

Anyway, I suppose I am curious as to how more seasoned commanders do it. Please feel free to share your thoughts!

Generally go Stamina, Accuracy, and then Sharpshooter. If you're playing Legendary, then Assault Training for melee becomes more viable because the AI likes to Charge you more due to their huge size advantage.

I'm definitely not up to snuff for Legendary. It play on Major General and often find myself thoroughly challenged. :shelterfrog:

So you are recommending the stamina boost over the morale boost as the level one perk?

That is a question of which side you´re playing. For Union I´d use morale due to lower recruit stats. As CSA I always pick the stamina upgrade.

Morale can be gotten very easily by just participating in battle. However, that +5% speed that the stamina perk gives you cannot be gotten anywhere else. And trust me, when you're dragging reinforcements halfway across the map, you'll really want that 5% speed boost buff. Especially once you combine it with more Corps Command perks, your guys can be walking as a damn fine pace and be Usane Bolt while running. Maneuver is king on the battlefield.

True. Though as an early game decision (Until gaines mill) Union morale is horrible despite the gain through combat experience. I´d still recommend the morale for the 1st corps or so. 2nd and 3rd corps are usually reinforcements for whom speed really is of the essence.

This is a very good point.

This sounds like a solid development plan to me. Thank you, Imbezile! :CSASkirmishers:

I use a case to case basis for this. Ex. if a unit has higher morale than stamina, I put points into stamina. Stamina is built up just by marching in battles, so the ones that travel farther will be higher. Also all stats cap at 100. If stamina is higher, I put points into morale. melee at 50 with gunfire at 60, invest in melee and vise versa. your end goal should be a unit with all attributes as close 100 as possible.
