Please allow to change General name.

Hi there...would like suggest with allow to change ours general name...
I always save few sec. before finish mission...Because just wanna get a lots nice general name in barrack so i keeping load savegame and hope to get a lots nice general name in barrack is a bit tired lol.

with allow to change general name in my army or Barrack(revesere) would be awesome..right?

BTW would like too see to change to Division name.

Nah, I wouldn't like it if you could change a man's name from Bobby Woods to Thomas Kemper, why would he be OK with changing his name?

Correct, but there is a problem that the game generates too many people with the same names. eg in my campaign there currently are the Harker brothers, the 3 Bennets and the Buford twins.

All in all I think changing name is a bit silly, but why not. No one forces you to use it or to go with ridiculous names like Joe Hooker :)

I think the better solution would be to add more random names.

I support name changes. You could personally make the game more historically correct. As with many things if you didn't like the function, then don't use it.

I honestly think it's kinda realistic to have a leader fighting another leader under the same name. Family fought each other in the war, so why ruin the self-made drama of it all by naming generals?

What Deadly Private writes is also correct. The population was much smaller and a lot of people were related and from well known officer families. There was even a Sylvester Churchill fighting, who had an uncanny similarity to Winston Churchill https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylvester_Churchill

Well,i do want real names...but when i play Union,i get a lots Rebels name like Sifried,Kepmper,Hexamer or 2-3 same surnames, therefor i want to change names so i get all real Union names..if possbile to change in next patch this one will be awesome...and i wish also change divion name so make that name to union real name :)

nobody demand yu to change..just let that be as that is...for us that feel to need change can click on cutton to change name.its all.

I personally loved the ability in CWG2 that allowed me to rename Unit Commanders after friends, family, Made the game all that much more personal and made me more invested in the game. I would love this ability to be added, but I don't' think it will

That too, but I honestly love naming a general after my best friend, and then I get so angry when they get hurt....just drawing me into the game, complete immersion. Don't get me wrong the game is amazing as is, by far one of the best civil war games i have seen recently, but this feature would help

This to allow change names is really need...there are some names it never show in barracks like Bee,Barstow,Cleburne and more...i would not change some not real names..only real names for CSA...and of course too Union.

Yay,found a way to change my generals name via savegame but is it allowed ?
because i don't want get some ban from steam or whatever its.

so my question to UGCW devs..is that ok?
