Chancellorsville (CSA) Advice and Suggestions.
First off, let me say I love this game, it's scratched a long neglected strategy fix I needed. So kudos to the developers for making an awesome game! Can;t wait for the full game to be out :D

Now, I would like to ask my fellow generals as to what you have done in this Grand battle. I have won every encounter up to this point, avoiding large casaulties and flanking my foes at every turn. Some battles have been harder to do than others .... looking at you Stones River >.<

But here, on this battle, I cannot for the life of me crack the Union main camp. I bering up artillery for canister shot, try to flank from all the angles I can, and the Union just won't bloody crack at all.

I am going for a third attempt now, going to see if I can inflict alot of Union casualties to make the 3rd phase easier. I admit I have not tried all my tricks, but I figured I'd see what others have done, and maybe this'll help others who might be stuck in the same battle.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are my stats for this battle:
Politics: 8
Economy: 8
Medicine: 8
Training: 8
Army Organization: 5
Logistics: 2
Reconnaisance: 4
I have three full corps with My avatar having Trainer and Infantry.
Robert Lee leads my 2nd Corps with Trainer, Infantry, and Attacker.
Thomas Jackson leads 3rd Corps with Trainer, Infantry, and Defender.
I am taking my avatar's and Lee's corps to Chancellorsville, mainly cause I want my avatar to get his third rank already XD
All my corps have 9 Infantry at 2000 strength, with 3 units being my reserves that I send in first. These usually have the M1855 mainly cause I had so many lying in the armory. They go in first and get things kicked off.
I have another 3 which serve as melee combatants. These are armed with M1855 or the M1841 for close encounters. Slightly more experinced and durable buggers, like grenadiers.
And then I have my 3 elites in the first division. These usually have the best gear, CS Richmond or the Latest Harpers Ferry rifle. I send these in when I need something done, or the others are tired or out of ammo.
I have 3 Cavalry units in each corps armed with Colt pisrols and sabers to turn away skrimishers, run down fleeing units, or flank entrenched infantry. Also handy for taking enemy supplies. Strength is 500 for each unit.
I also have 3 artillery in each corps, with 12 guns in each. They are usually carrying 24 pdr Howitzers, or Napoleon guns.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Anyways, hope to hear some good suggestions of how to win in this battle, I will update here in case I win and what I did :)

On the 2nd phase threaten the camp somehow with your Main Force so they won't reinforce their flank.

This gives you more room to complete a encirclement on whoever they have defending the flank and a proper annihilation of their troops there makes the 3rd phase that much easier.

You need to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of them more before they pull back to their camp so it's not so hard to get into.

The first two phases you really need to focus on doing as much damage you can while their force is spread out.

the flank coming from west to east is very important, dont let it stall but advance with caution as there are several divisions in the woods. Once through them I pushed from the NW forest near the objective down SE and with the other force from the SW of the farm & fields up north joining the two. once they start fleeing work your joined forces east. worked for me and I was outnumbered 2:1. :oldsammy::c98:
