Division Commanders
Hey guys! Love the game but have a quick question and probably a few more as people start responding.

My main question is what effect do Divison Commanders have on their respected divisions? I understand the role of the Corps Commander and you can see an obvious progression. But I keep losing high ranking generals that I try to "stash" as divison commanders.

On a side note I can beat the Union Campaign with relative ease but am continously struggling when I play as the Rebels.

Looking forward to responses!

Division commanders boost the Command stat of all their subordinates. Meaning you can have lower ranked officers command larger brigades.

interesting, I was trying to figure out what they did! I wanted to stash some 2 stars for later in the campaign but i kept losing them to snipers or something.

I'm not sure you need to "stash" MGs for later. I'm in the overland campaign now and I have about 30 in my barracks, because I keep removing them from their brigades after they leveled up to MG:

This talk of stacking up a reserve of generals reminds me of the old Victory Games Civil War, where the Union had this weird rotation of low quality generals going on so they'd inevitably wind up in a giant stack defending northern Pennsylvania.

Still wish Division Commanders are somehow visible during battles (mark unit where they are in with a small symbol or something). It feels always weird to have seem appear on Army screen but you have no clue where or if they are present during the actual battles.

They also help avoid the dreaded big red text that your commanders' rank is not high enough to efficiently command the brigade.
