John Tillers Civil War its turn based I liked the routing mechanics and historical order of battles
It is old 32 bit and I had trouble running it on my new 64 bit system so it is no longer on my drive
but I really liked the game series.
In the original game, Civil War Generals, there were I think ten battles, but in Civl War Generals 2 they went crazy with the number of battles they made. I think it was literally over a hundred battles they made, and you could play all different kinds of campaign modes. You could similarly change the equipment of your troops, change commanders (though in that game changing commanders never made sense), etc. Highly recommend it. An oldy but, apart from this game, I'd still say the best civil war game ever made.

TalonSoft's old Battleground series had several ACW titles- Gettysburg being the most famous. They also had Chickamauga and Antietam I believe. I want to say there was a Bull Run as well.
@Probabaly Tim - lol I think I still have that game somewhere. Should see if I can convince it to run on a 64bit OS.
Civil War Generals was great for its time and I played it a lot as a young teen. Today though, this is one of the better ACW games out despite the flaws.
