Battle of Chickamauga: Horseshoe Ridge
I"ve been playing the Historical version of the Battle of Chickamauga. I see that holding Horseshoe Ridge is a victory condition for both sides, but I have yet to see it in any of my playthroughs. Is it on an unlockable 4th day or is there some other trigger?

Nevermind it was in my second Union playthrough. Wasn't present in the first though. Must have been a bug or something.

It triggers on day 3 when if a union victory point falls.

Side-note: i think it's a bit of a rip off. If you fail to capture both of the two Confederate northern objectives(but don't lose any victory flags), you don't get the third day. You just get a draw. Also the timer has no extra leeway, which forced me to a draw twice. I will keep replaying until I get a victory!!

Ugh, tell me about it. The worst part is that, thanks to the way the terrain works, the northern objectives are the really hard part. If you can take those two, then seizing the southern objectives becomes almost a formality. Which means there is really no reason not to just win on the second day while you're at it. Took my four tries but that's eventually what I did. No reason not to. I'm convinced that it's a mistake and one of the coders messed up. Historically, the 3rd day was when the South finally broke through after the 2nd day ended up being a glorified stalemate that went on into the night.

Koro, can you please elaborate a bit on that in your post above. Can you give an example?

I just played the Historical Chickamauga with victories as both sides today, within the last few hours, and Horseshoe Ridge never triggered. As CSA one victory point changed hands twice (but that might have been day 4). So I'm curious just exactly how this works.

I also can not get to the last phase as a Union campaign. I believe I have the most recent version of the game via steam. Is there a hack to avoid the draw, like giving up a Union victory point on Lafayette Road and retaking it? I was going for body count and surrendered units in my campaign playthrough of Chickamauga and got the dreaded draw. Before I try again, has anyone advanced to the last day without taking the two Southern VP at Jays Mill and Brotherton XRoads?

To get to the last day as the Union you need to hold your 4 VPs along the road and cannot hold either of the VPs at Jays Mill or Brotherton Road at the end of day 2.

To get to the last day as the CSA you must hold Jays Mill and Brotherton Road(only need to control them at the very end of day 2) and cannot control any other VPs.
