We'll just have to wait and see, or wait for a comment from the Beta People or the Devs.
Everettsville was a slog. Too many trees. I wouldn't want to fight a grand battle in 90% forest.
Chancellorsville is essentially the same battlefield you know.
For Spotsylvania Courthouse I figured that would make more sense as the main battle compared to Cold Harbor as Cold Harbor has a little bit too much of a Fredericksburg about it.
But the big battle for me would have been at the North Anna even though it was fairly inconsequential in the actual campaign, North Anna had the most potential for a decisive battle for the overland campaign especially for the confederates. If they're gonna do a battle for DC and one for Richmond this is one I would also like to see implemented. The only reason North Anna isn't really held in the same regard as the other battles is because Lee comes down with some pretty bad diarrhea at the critical point. However you could imagine this would have been a pretty signifcant battle if Lee was able to launch an attack on either flank of the union army. Its hard to imagine the Union army being in good shape if one corp was completely crushed and lee was able to cross the north anna and cut off the line of supply, but thats getting a little too what iffy.
You wouldn't like to fight this battle? Neither did the commanders in real life. That's why it should be included.
There were at least 2 direct assaults at the city of Vicksburg, then the siege, then the Logan's approach assault which was a pretty brutal 26 hour fight. Look up Logans approach or 3rd Louisiana redan.
Just saying.
Fear the trees.
Fear the sharpshooter, for they can hit elephants.
