@ cliveroberts1978. Also thanks for the reply i higly value youre post, since you can compare the games.
A mix of both could be really interesting .
1. Using the lowest speed option until you get the hang of things (left most speed control button)
2. Taking a look at a full battle before you start a campaign. You'll probably lose the battle, but it will give you a good idea of where the campaign is heading - the battles get bigger as you go along.
3. Reading the guides here about how to manage your army. You need to right size and quality to have any chance of winning the later battles.
Everyone was very helpfull.
That game... I think, was the very first PC game, aside from Doom that I played.
It was an incredible game. That being said, it is nothing like this game being that it was turn based. However it does use the same type of upgrade system, same guns, stats, etc.
Just buy this game, seriously. You will love it.
A couple of years ago the madness came upon me again, and I even considered digging out an ancient Dell WinXP laptop and replacing the battery just so I could play CWG2. But by then I realized I was a big boy with responsibilities, and I had no time for such silliness. The madness passed, and I went on with my life.
My next trip off the back of the wagon came when when I played Gettysburg a couple years back. I loved it. But it wasn't quite enough. I dreamed of a true successor in spirit to CWG.
UGCW is it. No regrets.
xD.
