Interesting facts gleened from the article: UGG sold ~300,000 copies. UGCW as of just recently has sold 43,140 copies while in EA. However, only 7,888 have played the game in the last two weeks. (All according to steamspy.com) http://steamspy.com/search.php?s=Ultimate+General%3A+Civil+War (UGCW is in the upper left corner of web page)
It definitely gives you a perspective on how many people play games in this type of RTS genre. As of Aug, 2016 Call of Duty BlackOps III (quite popular in the FPS genre) had about 1,500,000 copies sold.
To be sure, we RTS guys and gals are a minority. We are not going to literally put millions upon millions of $ in developer pockets. So the games we play as RTS players need to be good to make these games successful. Although there are things we all want, and things we want to change or improve, UGCW I think will qualify as GOOD in most everybody's minds who love RTS war games.
There is no doubt we are all highly anxious about getting the next patch releasing the final Grand battles. Will it then come out of EA? Maybe not. Perhaps one more tuning patch to get out of EA. We'll see.
I, for one, am hoping this next patch will make the biggest strides yet towards "a more perfect union".
Well, I mean I knew it had a following. I am one of them at over 500 hrs of Rome II. I just did not realize how big it was.
From "The Church of the Jedi's" website.....except by inserting Dartis rather than "The Force"...nice one Wright29
WRONG (unfortunately) ;-)
