PATCHNOTES SUMMARY:

THE BIG CAR OVERHAUL. Every car is now built from real assemblies that wear out from how you drive them, with a dashboard that reads real fault codes.
SEE YOUR ENGINE. Real engine models sit in the bay with turbo, alternator and oil pan bolted on — pull it as one package, or buy one of eight brand-new engines.
RIMS AND TYRES, SEPARATELY. Loot rims and tyres on their own, fit them with a tyre iron — and when a tyre hits 0 % it bursts and you're on the hub.
WEIGHT AND REAL COLLISIONS. Cargo, fuel and passengers weigh the car down, every car has a real collision shape, zombies hit back with mass and bodies stay on the road.
AIR RIDE. Bolt on an air suspension kit, set five ride heights front and rear, and drop the car from your phone — with the hiss to match.

New — the car overhaul

Cars are built from assemblies. Engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes, electrics — every part has its own condition and wears from load, not from the difficulty setting. Old oil ruins the engine step by step, a head gasket can go, and smoke comes out of the real tailpipe in the colour of what is burning.
Diagnostics. 28 fault codes per part, live values and a CHECK lamp. The dashboard lamps now follow the real fault codes: battery light from 13.0 V, a coolant lamp, the temperature gauge glows red from 108 °C, plus six service LEDs with a chime.
Extra gauges as parts. Boost 0–3 bar, voltmeter 10–16 V and oil temperature 60–150 °C — three slots on the dash.
The engine is in the bay. Real engine models for inline-3, inline-4, inline-6 and V8 (the V8 as a bi-turbo), with turbo, alternator and oil pan visibly bolted on. Pulling the engine takes everything with it as one package. Eight brand-new engines can be bought as items.
Rims and tyres, separately. Loot a rim, a tyre or a complete wheel. Fit and remove tyres with a tyre iron. A tyre at 0 % bursts and the car sits on its hub. Burnouts eat tyres — each wheel on its own.
Wheel alignment on the screw. Camber now really changes grip, and you set tyre pressure (1.6–3.0 bar), toe, track width, steering lock and ride height per car.
Weight matters. Trunk load, fuel and passengers (80 kg per seat) count. Fully loaded, the rear sits low and braking distance grows a lot. The oil pan can hit the ground and curbs can scrape low cars.
Real collision shapes on every car. Zombies have mass when you hit them, and bodies stay on the road as obstacles.
New workshop window. One U-shaped window for repairs with tiles, greyed-out parts that tell you why, full controller support.
Refuelling you can see. Nozzle in hand, hose to the car, fill a jerry can and pour it in.
Portable dyno. Place it at your base for free and read live kW and Nm with peak values.
Exhaust pops and flames on overrun and at the limiter — diesels included. Each engine has its own sound with the hood open.

New — air ride

The AirRide H3 kit, 4,500 $ at the parts dealer.
Five height levels, front and rear separately, set on the four-post lift in the new AIRRIDE tab.
The AIRRIDE phone app switches levels within 15 m or from the driver's seat. The car rises and drops live, with over 200 mm of travel.
You hear it drop — from a soft pfft to a truck-sized hiss.

New — towing and trailers

Tow bar: hook any end of one car to any end of another within 3 m. The link survives saving and loading. Found at scrapyards, 90 $ in the parts tent and the hardware store.
Box trailer: hitches straight on, holds 750 litres and shows crates on the bed as it fills up.
Car transporter: 5 m wooden bed, two aluminium ramps, and a car strapped down on top.
Trailers are sold at the dealership (2,250 $ / 5,250 $) and sometimes turn up at the scrapyard.

New — story mode

New main menu: STORY / DRIFT / GARAGE with Continue, New world and Tutorial. Solo and co-op are the same world — open the gate in the pause menu to let friends in.
Autosave every 10 minutes and on teleport, leaving and quitting, plus up to 10 named backups.
Nobody dies any more. Go down and you lie there until someone brings you back with a syringe. If everyone is down, the group wakes up at the last bed and your backpack stays where you fell.
Central storage (the orange crate) at your base, the motel and your drift box — expandable.
Four zombie types — walker, runner, brute and screamer — that drop money and rare loot. A protective vest with its own bar.
IDLEWOOD, the first town, at km 50: police station, two walk-in warehouses, a shopping row with LOCK & LOAD, DOC'S DRUGS, FIX-IT DEPOT and BIG CART, traffic lights and signs counting down from 45 km out.
Shopkeepers behind the counters and at the town gas station, with a new shop window: cards, category filter, "you have: n" and "Eat now".
SHADY DAVE waits in warehouse 2 and trades — if you bring the right thing.
Your base got a marketplace: parts tent, snack stand, PIT PATCH, registration office and cash machine.
The road ahead: six more towns are being built along the highway.
New phone booth window with place names, distance and price.
Radio: 25 songs, nine of them new.

New — Topline F32

Rear-wheel drive, 2.5 l turbocharged straight six, 1,430 kg, 180 km/h. Found in the world and sold at the dealership, with its own parts in the crates.

Improved

Sky and light: a real sun path, photo skies and colour grading. Brighter shadows and interiors, contact shadows under cars and players, darker nights.
Highlighting is now a soft rim light instead of a yellow outline.
New video tab COLOR & BRIGHTNESS (50–150 %), and shadow distance 10–200 m, independent of the quality preset.
Drift pays about three times more: full angle points from 75°, streaks up to ×10, and speed counts up to 200 km/h.
Drift servers can set the time of day.
More fps: parked cars far away from players go to sleep — noticeably smoother around towns.
Jumper cables: one click, up to 3 m, the donor doesn't even need to run.
Hunger and thirst last longer (60 / 45 minutes).
Rebuilt parts shop, weapons sit properly in the hands, used cars at Wade's come with a service book, and you can sell a car to another player from your phone.
The game now has its own icon on the taskbar.

Fixed

Cars on the dealer lot faced the wrong way for other players.
Drift guests were kicked after 30 seconds.
Odometer, oil age and service distance now also count while time is skipped.
Tyre wear follows real sliding instead of plain speed.

Heads-up for running saves

The world changed past km 95. Old saves warn on load — a new world is recommended.
Found cars, wrecks and Wade's lot roll differently. Found cars can no longer be sold, only scrapped.
The base trader and base dealership are gone; cars you bought stay.
A car with an empty rim slot now sits on its hub.
Old drift records aren't comparable any more.
Host and guests need the same version.

Alpha 0.41: 20-Player Drift Servers, Festival Grounds, Editors & Characters

PATCHNOTES SUMMARY:

DRIFT MODE — 20-player multiplayer servers. Host your own drift server or join one from the server list. Drift scoring from angle, speed and streaks pays real prize money, banked to your profile when you leave. No death, no fatigue — just driving.
The festival grounds. The drift pit lane is a whole festival site now: fuel island, BAILOUT bank machine, parts tent with 69 goods, snack stand, PIT PATCH medic post, DJ stage, pavilions, a truck rig with a ramp, registration office and the top-10 board — plus grandstands, a 20 m viewing tower, crash barriers and a swing gate for your own layouts.
Track editor and pit box editor. Lay out your own drift tracks from 53 pieces and build and decorate your own pit box — both fully controller-capable. A standard track ships with the game, and tracks now survive saving and reloading.
New playable characters. Bryce and Megan — real skeletons, full-body animation, a ragdoll when a car hits you, and Megan speaks with her own voice. Create your character in the main menu; name, look, profession, skills and inventory live in your player profile and travel with you through every world.
Also in this build: CAR RECALL (call your car to you for 150 $), inventory doubled to 16 slots, registration offices at four story locations, drift scoring past 90 degrees no longer fails, and other players can no longer open your car.

Note for testers: your profile is upgraded to v6 on first start (one-way — an older build will show an empty-looking profile afterwards, nothing is lost). On first start you create a character in the main menu; the profession start kit is granted once per character.

Drift mode — the 20-player server

Host or join. Start a server with your own name, player cap and settings, or pick one from the sortable server list (name, player count, settings preview). Up to 20 players on one server.
Scoring and money. Angle × speed × streak. Over 90 degrees is no longer a failed drift — the angle score peaks at 90 and falls off towards sideways-and-backwards. Prize money is paid as cash on the server and banked to your account when you leave.
Your car is yours. Nobody else can open your driver's door or your trunk, use the lift or the workshop mode on your car. Every car and box is registered to its owner.
Tools on the pit board: CLEAN UP SPILLS, RESET to your pit box, SWAP your car for another of your registered cars, a player list with box numbers and Steam profiles, and the top-10 board.
No death, no fatigue on drift servers.

The festival grounds

Services along the pit lane: fuel island (2.00 $/l), BAILOUT bank machine, parts tent with 69 goods including oil, coolant and the other fluids, snack stand for eating on the spot, PIT PATCH medic post, registration office.
The show: DJ stage, three pavilions, a truck rig with a ramp, the top-10 board.
New pieces for the site (15): grandstand start/straight/end with concrete steps and a roof, a 20 m lattice viewing tower, modular 1.5 m steel stairs, a drift swing gate with a return spring, galvanised crash barriers with a sponsor tarp (knockable), a concrete pillar adjustable from 0.5 to 3 m wide and 0.5 to 5 m tall, and a workshop kit (wall, window wall, shop window, roller door, roof, roof plate, wrench sign).

Track editor and pit box editor

Track editor. Lay out your own drift track from 53 pieces — roads, connectors, kerbs, barriers, grandstands, buildings — on any of the three surfaces. Connect road pieces and the connectors follow. A standard track (147 pieces) ships with the game so every server has one ready.
Pit box editor. Build and decorate your own pit box; your box choice travels in your profile and is yours on every server.
Controller everywhere. Button hints with real button pictures, a catalog key, proper focus in every menu.
Saving is safe now. Connected pieces no longer fall apart on reload, a broken list is never written over your file, a backup of the last good state is kept.

New characters

Bryce and Megan. Two playable figures with Mixamo skeletons and one AnimationTree: walk, run, jump, sit, aim and shoot with pistol and rifle, swing bat and knife, reload, push, wrench, kneel down to inject. Every held item sits properly in the hand. Megan has her own voice (34 lines).
Character creation in the main menu. Press SOLO or MULTIPLAYER without a character and you land on the creation screen: name (Steam name pre-filled), profession, figure, colour, voice and language, with a LISTEN button. GARAGE › CHARACTER shows your character on a turntable with skill cards, lets you change look and voice, and offers RESET (new profession, skills to zero). The wardrobe in game is the changing room for the same things.
Your character lives in your profile (v6). Name, look, profession, skills and inventory are yours across all six save slots — a slot is now just a world you visit. The profession start kit is granted once per character.
Death and damage. Solo: your character survives, the inventory goes into a loot crate where you fell. In a friend's game you are knocked out instead of dead and get up on your own after 60 seconds. Getting hit by a car throws you as a ragdoll for 5 seconds — no damage.
Money display. Your account is shown in the HUD and in the menu; a red screen edge pulses like a heartbeat when a vital value drops below 35 %.

Also new

CAR RECALL. Every car line in the registration window (and MY CARS in a phone booth) has a RECALL · 150 $ button: the car appears 4 m behind you — solo, in your own co-op or in a friend's world (one car there, a second recall swaps it). Leaving a friend's game takes your cars with you; after a disconnect the host keeps your car for 10 minutes.
Registration offices at the motel, the parts store, the workshop and the small town.
Inventory doubled from 8 to 16 slots (22 with the backpack), the inventory menu is six tiles wide.
Adrenaline syringe as a work tool — kneel down and inject to revive.
Melee timing — hits land in time with the swing.
Ground plates at the parts store, small town, drive-in and restaurant are visible again.
UI scale now applies to the speedometer and the drift HUD.
Sandbox difficulty and selling in My Cars are disabled for now.

Fixed

Drift → Story: your car came back in the wrong state — the world now reads a registered car's condition from the car file.
Standard track was missing from the package (0.401).
Solo: colour and voice changes at the wardrobe were never written to the profile.
Held items were rotated the wrong way — bat, pistol and wrench now sit right in the hand.

Update 0.384 — Co-op radio sync, ECU flash tool, sleep-save in your car

PATCHNOTES SUMMARY:

You can now save by sleeping in your car — and every save finally stores the world as it is after you wake up, not before
The ECU flash tool is in: find a tuning stick out in the world, plug the tool into your car and flash it — rev limiter and more, with a full handheld interface you can use from the driver's seat
Tuning works again: engine tunes, cat removal and the sport exhaust had stopped raising your top speed — fixed
A big co-op stability pass: other players' cars no longer rubber-band, name tags stick to cars, and joining now checks versions and hands late joiners their own copy of the save
Fixed several crash causes around installing body parts (diffusers, body kits) — the ones some of you hit right after mounting a part
Every trunk now holds twice as much, and the first gas station stocks random loot like any other
The radio finally plays the same song for everyone in co-op, it now comes on with the ignition, and two new songs joined the rotation

New

The ECU flash tool. USB tuning sticks now spawn as loot. Plug the tool in at the driver's seat and flash your car: edit and write screens, a flasher terminal with real progress, warning texts, and its own boot screen — a proper handheld device, fully usable with a controller.
Sleeping in a car saves the game. Works exactly like the bed: only when you are tired. In co-op the save covers all players, and the save confirmation is now clearly visible for everyone.
A drive-sync slider in the gameplay settings (20–500 ms). The host sets it for the session; use it to trade smoothness against delay on slow connections.
The radio is in sync in co-op. Everyone hears the same song: the host calls the next track ahead of time, so every player's radio has it ready before it starts — song changes land within a blink of each other. Skipping with T asks the host to switch for everyone; after a skip, guests share a short cooldown before the next one.
The car radio comes on with the ignition and starts at a sensible volume the first time. It remembers you: turn it off and it stays off on the next start, turn the knob and it stays where you left it.
Two new radio songs — FIX IT TOMORROW and MAKE ME SAY IT. Two old ones left the rotation.

Improved

Co-op network traffic cut massively. Cars only send what changed, far-away traffic is handled by a distant-guard instead of a constant stream — long sessions stay smooth instead of clogging up.
Joining a co-op game is safer. A proper join prompt, a version check so mismatched game versions cannot join each other, and a late joiner now gets his own copy of the save — nothing gets silently overwritten.
The first gas station (the one right after the start) now stocks random loot like every other station, instead of the same four items every run.
Every car's trunk holds twice as much.
The camera starts where you spawn when loading a save, instead of swinging over from somewhere else.
Graphics settings now respect your renderer. On machines running the compatibility renderer, the menu no longer switches on effects the renderer cannot do (a stability issue on some integrated GPUs), and the anti-aliasing row tells you when TAA has no effect on your setup.
Controller support keeps growing: holding a direction now auto-advances, long lists scroll properly, and popups keep the focus where it belongs.

Fixed

Saves no longer roll back your sleep. Loading a save made by sleeping used to put you back at the time before you slept — rested, but unable to sleep again to pass the time. A save now stores the world as it is after you wake up.
Tuning had stopped working: a performance cap swallowed the effect of engine tunes, cat removal and the sport exhaust. All three raise your performance again.
Several crash causes around installing body parts. Building a car's looks used to happen many times over during assembly and teardown — that is now done once, cleanly. This matches the crashes some players hit shortly after mounting a diffuser or body kit.
Fixed a crash risk when chunks appeared while things were being removed at the same moment (report from co-op sessions under heavy load — found and fixed twice over, independently, by two hunts).
Base props no longer drop from the sky. Driving back to your base, your placed parts used to rain in and slam down — they now appear only once the ground under them is ready.
Three world props (mailbox, park bench, trash can) showed the wrong parts in the released build — an export quirk silently ate their configuration. Fixed for good.
Name tags in co-op stick to the cars again instead of trailing behind at speed.
Other players' cars no longer rubber-band — a timing fix cut the visible drift from about 70 cm to almost nothing at real-world ping.

Steering wheels on Windows (bonus feature)

LIMP MODE supports steering wheels with force feedback on Windows. Force feedback comes from the tire forces of your car and works through the normal wheel driver of your brand.
