If playing Guts with the berserk armor on (not always transformed, the transformable one)
if skilled correctly, you can be in berserker form pretty much anytime, and that form is invincible, litterally.
My skills for this Guts are :
Slow Burn
Frenzy Offense
Regeneration
Resurgeance
Frenzy Inertia
Death Blow Inertia
Regeneration
Resurgeance
Death Blow Power
Force
Regeneration
Resurgeance
With that skills set, any of the character able to transform will be able to do so pretty much at all time, regenerating their Frenzy bar like crazy, and their Death Blow bar in a few seconds without even having to hit something. So you basically create something so powerfull and completely invulnerable, it doesn't need to have defense on any sort.
What I like to do with that Guts is
1. Transform
2. Do the running heavy attack, when he jumps then run with his sword, doing not really crazy damages but filling his Death Blow Bar like crazy
3. As soon as the Deat Blow Bar is full, activate.
Done correclty, you can death blow almost indefinitly, sometimes clearing 3 layers at once, because when performing the Death Blow, the frenzy bar stands still.
If you'r not playing Transformable Guts or equivalent (Zodd, Wyald), then your stategy shall change.
First, you need to realise that little npc will harm you given the chance. So hit first and use your horse to be untouchable.
Griffith seems a bit weak, until you discover his running heavy attack, which makes him like some king of speed god, you feel like you are constantly death blowing, if done correctly with the dash button.
Thing is, you have to understand what character you play with, and how does he survive.
My transformables doesn't need any defense because they are invulnerables, so the thing is to make them invulnerable as fast as possible.
Griffith is wide open when using his attacks normaly, but when running then heavy attack, he performs a single deadly blow, which can be canceled into a dash into an other heavy running attack if timed correclty.
Such Griffith is really using the Evasion skill grealty, always dashing, and the Force skill, for the damage output.
Judeau... I don't know... I'm working on it... Really poor...
Casca is a Griffith with a dash attack a bit slower but touches easier, so she's in fact even better..
I don't really know for the rest of the cast, have to find out yet =)
On that note I probably need to rework my accessories because I wasn't aware you could stack resurgence when I made them lol. If anyone knows of a farmable accessory that has resurgence as its guaranteed lock skill, I'd appreciate it.
The best advice I can give after completing it with all characters is to utilize sub-weapons. With Guts I never even used them, except the cannon, which I regret because his bomb stuns Femto every time. Sub-weapons like the crossbow though are not worth your time. Characters like Wyald and Zodd can use a roar that stuns enemies and transform which enables them to continuously attack without being interupted. This makes the entire endless eclipse pretty easy for those characters.
Zodd was probably the easiest and fastest character to complete all 100 levels. If you are looking to just complete it once I would use him. The hardest, in my opinion, was Casca and Judeau. Casca was the first character I played outside of Guts.
Casca's counter is your best friend. Her death blow is hard to deal any real amount of damage to bosses though. Also, I didn't learn this till the end, but Casca can spam her charge attack pretty fast which can stun-lock a lot of enemies, do quick heavy damage, and recharge frenzy. Same with Griffith. You can run at an enemy, use his quick charge attack, then bounce away and repeat.
Especially for layers 95-100 play it slow. If you have to back off for five minutes to recharge your frenzy gauge then so be it. Better than having to replay levels again. Adjust skills and warhorse usage to be able to always charge your frenzy. My favorite horse was the Skull Knight's for the Equine Resurgence. Don't shy from using the horse to get away quick when frenzy ends.
Schierke was the last character I played and she was really fun. She plays the most different in the game with a strong emphasis on range, preperation, and avoidance. I would avoid using her till you have things mastered.
Good luck and hope this helps people out!
Guts is also the easiest due to his invincibility, unfortunately, Femto can lift and throw him around too much to be viable in that fight.
Is there like a recommened best build overall for each character? What are the best stats to focus on overall, cause I really feel like I wasn't playing right and just managed to cheese my way through 1-100 layers because I was abusing Berserker armor.
To farm, keep doing layers 100+ with guts, to collect an accessory with "Hawk" inside of it's name, it gives 50 in all stat in it's basic form, 100 when full upgraded, so it's the best accessory to build on.
An advice I might give is to play Judeau until layer 21 if I remember correctly. It unlock a horse with 99 luck.
Take that horse with Guts and go crazy on 100+ layers, and you'll find what you want.
There is not best overall skills but somes I find most usefull :
Regeneration et Resurgeance are worth having on three accessories if a transform character, if not, one is enough.
Slow Burn is always good to have.
Frenzy Inertia, Death Blow Inertia, Frenzy Offense are always good.
I find Force, which gives better heavy attack more usefull than the one granting better normal attacks, so if I have to choose, I choose Force.
Stun, Rapacity, Dazzle, are good to have.
Range Up/Flair/Dexterity does not really help you or do anything really usefull.
I don't find Guard usefull, maybe because of my playstyle, but I find it it's just not a game where you try to perfect guard, you don't have the time and you're always moving instead..
But I would recommend the Endless Eclipse, it's pretty common to earn mutiples levels and your always done between 5 to 10 minutes tops
