I would if I were you since it basicly covers the anime anyhow and will ruin it for you otherwise.

The game's story is very abridged, but covers the Golden Age, Black Swordsman, part of Conviction (leaves out the Lost Children storyline), and the Falcon of the Millenium Empire arcs. The original anime and movies cover most of the Golden Age (both leave out Wyald), while the 2016 anime only covers the Conviction Arc (also leaves out Lost Children).

If you want the full story, it's best to read the manga.

Yeah read the manga.
Both 97 anime and the movies skipped important things.

The game follows the manga storyline fairly accuratly.

the anime was made while most of the manga was in it's early stages, so much of the storyline and characters are missing, like the fairy Puck isn't even in the anime.

Well, no, Puck was already a character in the earliest chapters, it's just the original anime and movies both covered Golden Age, which pre-dated Puck meeting Guts.

Definitely the manga, the actual manga has more frames per second than the 2016 anime.
More detail which is everything in a story like Berserk, if you're going to see people get split in two then you'll want to see them split in two properly like the manga shows, the drawing style is fantastic too.

It's not your typical big boobies school uniform manga though, you've been warned.

No again... re-watch the ols anime.... if you read the manga, when Guts went to the apostle who ruled the castle town, it was Puck who was in the cage, while in the Anime it was a serving wench... so he as a character was cut out.

PS. Sorry for the delay, been busy with life.

I'm just pointing out they didn't omit Puck because the manga was in its "early stages" (which, honestly, isn't quite correct since Berserk was 7 years old and at volume 14 by the time the anime was released), they omitted him because he didn't play any role in the Golden Age arc, so it was pointless to introduce him at all.
