From what I can tell if you use that item as a base for the first time when fuseing items, that item skill can't be writen over with another skill

After you gain the ability to choose what skills get carried over when you amalgamate the lock means that that particular skill can not be removed from the item.

It means that when you'll unlock the amalgamate function (and the advanced one, where you choose what skills stays on the items), you'll be force to keep the skill. For instance, if you amalgamate a ring with attack up locked on it, when you have to choose between all the skills in the items you fuse together, your ring will have a slot occupied by attackup no matter what, and you'll have only 3 slots remaining to pick up the skills you want.

Got it, thank you

Uhm, i think all of you guys are wrong. A skill with a lock is locked. You can unlock that skill by fusing (amalgamate) it with an item that has no skills at all.

No, we're both right. If you keep the item, the skill is forced to go with it, if you use it as fusion material, then it's what you say that happens.
