Please tell me I'm not the only person who thinks this kid is literally the cancer killing the gaming industry.
Not every game ever made needs to be instant action. Go back to cowadoody.
This gaming industry isn't dead. In fact, we're seeing more indie developers and cross-platforming every day. But hey, if blaming me for your dissatisfaction makes you feel better, then go for it. I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
Sometimes a topic is just that. Something for people to discuss their thoughts over. Hey, maybe someone will even tell me how it's cool and I might go out and buy it. So stop getting your panties in a bunch over nothing.
This game has over 2 hours of cinematic cutscenes!
OH NO!
...Are you serious?
First: this is fine for a game that is a fanservice based on a manga or anime. Because this game is made for the fans of Berserk Manga and Anime, and most of the fans want to see their favorite scenes in the game
Second: Two hours of cutscenes is very little. Metal Gear Solid 4 has solid (got the pun?) 8 hours. JRPG games tend to have 5< hours of cinematics.
And holy crap, RPG games tend to have a crap load of cutscenes! I mean, talking to NPCs is a part of their gameplay!
So dude, i don't mind cutscenes.
Pretty sure Vanquish (which was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ action shooter for crying out loud) had a 30 minute long intro. Followed by more cutscenes after about 10 seconds of action.
I honestly think I spent more time watching cutscenes in that game than I actually did playing it.
Games have been doing this since the Dreamcast and PSX.
You're right, and IMO it sucks. My first video game system was one of those B&W consoles with the dial that you switch to change games. It's changed a lot since the stick and dot games, but half the junk they put out anymore is less fun than that was for me.
I will tell you one more thing about this. One of the fun things about beating the games were the few seconds of animation you got for beating them. Now the cutscenes are often on the same level as the endings, and sometimes even better.
