[FIXED] Is there any help with FPS that actually works?
I have like 20 fps and the game lags like hell.

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTZ 960M
Windows 10 64 bit
Intel Core i7-8700hq
16mb ram

I have updated the drivers, tried it on every compatibilty mode, put all the settings to the lowest possible, redownloaded the redistributional lists the game comes with, ran as administrator.

I am running out of ideas and I really want to play this game because I love Berserk =/ I don't want to have to refund it because it just doesn't work.

EDIT:

Fixed by right clicking on my desktop, going to the NVIDIA control panel, and adding the Exe. to the "manage 3D settings", then in the drop down menu selecting NVIDIA card, instead of integrated card. The game runs like a champ at 55 FPS.

Special thanks to The Soft Tip for helping!

If you tried the lowest settings possible and you noticed absolutely no difference, the issue could be CPU related. You should use your Task Manager/Resource Monitor to see if there is any unexplained physical memory or CPU usage. If there are, you should restart your system, and if the issue persists you might be looking at a hardware issue.

By that I mean from overheating of a device to a fan being clogged by layers of dust around its axis and slowing the whole thing down.

If there is no unexplained usage of the above, or if you noticed a slight, but not sufficient performance improvement upon lowering all associated settings, it can be an issue with Windows 10 resource management that I am not aware of or one of the above.

Also if you are on a laptop, well some laptops are simply not built for gaming and such performance is expected even if their specs seem to be able to handle it.

The game seems poorly optimized, and your GPU (plus it's the portable version) may not be good enough to counter-balance the flaws of the PC port.

Make sure that you do not have fps cap set 20fps. Dragon quest hores had this setting likely this game may have it to.

i have a good PC and i couldn't get above 35.
Turned of Vertical Sync and only get 30-45....

Is the game runningoff of your Nvidia GPU? I have the same GPU and the game was running like utter piss, and when I opened control panel, the game was automatically using the Integrated card. Forced it to the 960 and now it runs pretty okay.

Tecmo games run like ♥♥♥♥ generally though, especially on mobile cards. I can't even get the damn game to run in windowed mode.

You can try setting "ENVIRONMENT" to low and see if that helps..

if i minimize the game, the process doesn't even show on the taskbar for me to get back in....

Laptop users must ensure that the integrated Intel graphic chip is not used over your dedicated graphic chip. Since this is a common issue with laptop owners, do an internet search about it.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm so glad I found this thread and can finally play this game now! It was literally the main motivation I had for buying a gaming laptop, and I was frustrated beyond words with the slideshow framerate I was getting out of my 1050ti

I had the same problem. Berserk is my favorite manga of all time so naturally, this needed to be in my library. I bought it on steam about a year ago and the frame rate lagged so bad I could not even play it. I have a GeForce GTX 1660Ti so it should have had no problems.

I went to the Nvidia control panel as suggested above. It was on Auto-select to either select the internal vs dedicated. When I selected the dedicated and applied settings I no longer have lag and it runs awesome.

This game is truly amazing but not adding a local multiplayer option is absolute blasphemy.

should i apply the dedicated nvidia card for all PC games that I play? Will that have any repercussions? thank you for the tip btw, this worked and the game is now playable!

Yes, unless you want to play 3D games WITHOUT proper 3D acceleration, which is not a thing anymore since about 1996.

Doing this worked for me!! Thank you so much <3

Now just one problem left. I can only really play with a controller, since with my keyboard I can move but not attack?
